already prove that 2-3 works.
I'll try to do the other thing on Off Season.

Prove that 2-3 did not work... but please don't use 5 PG or C with no ID

Do you have any consistent prove that 23 is broke ?
Just asking.. I want to know the reason to post later and don't screw it.

I know in 2-3, your guards have to have a lot of ID because of help defense. Same as your PF and C must have a lot of OD when playing 3-2. The problem is 3-2 is much more effective against outside tactic than 2-3 is against inside. I know it's like this because OD is overtrained and ID is overlooked on guards; but another reason 2-3 is a bad tactic is it lets opponent's outside players score too much from outside. Especially in last few minutes, when the result is tight and players start shooting 3s.
And not only that...2-3 also strenghtens your opponent's offensive flow. So too many cons for little pros.

Or maybe you are totally wrong.
Don't blame you for not knowing how to use correctly 2-3 zone.

see the other side of that situation..how cool is that for LI teams that are user out there who tellin around that a fine defense option to stop ur/our offense isnt workin :-)

im pleased with that and sayin YES 23 is still BS..the only way to defend LI teams is using a 32 defense against it!!!!

I believe you are right! The ultimate defense against LI is 3-2, or M2M if you think your ID is high enough.

I am of the same opinion. By playing 3-2 you put some pressure on outside players, effectively cutting some of their passing power and isolate their bigs on some extent. It's true you lose a bit on rebounding, but this is a minor sacrifice comparing to 2-3's non existing outside defense.

Hope these ideas spread rapidly trough B3 teams.

I don't think the extra pressure on guards really pays off the monumental lack of ID you get with 3-2. Altough, if your ID is really lower than your opponents inside attack (this is the case where 2-3 is raped down the rim, without considering the extra assits and better outside scoring), you could say it's better to try 3-2. Since your big mens are gonna be outplayed no matter what, you can at least try to lose with better difference by stoping their guards (playing 3-2 against a decent team with superior inside attack is a lost game in my view).

Wait, wait...I didn't say I'd exclusively play 3-2 over M2M against LI teams. M2M is still the best option if you want to control who defends who. But if your inside players are stronger than his, I think 3-2 is a smart choice.
