I think you mean me, not Astra. You add 10 skills to any NT-level starter and he becomes a pretty good player ;-)

I'd rather have a 16/10 or a 10/16 guy than a 13/13 guy when it comes to SF D. And I had a season 16 win against Belgium with that type of call (ok, 1 pt, extra enthusiasm, but you were ranked 22 and we were in the 60s).

Eminence has been great for the NT; it's a shame he needs a sabbatical. Pretty difficult to find someone good enough to do the job right for one term only before Eminence throws his baseball cap back into the ring.

And I agree with what you're saying about England being just about able to give anyone a game. Although we still don't have a full set of weapons, we finally have just about enough to go to war with.

you forgot to mention that you had HCA aswell ;)

What i meant with my statement, is that back then, it was considered an upset if you beat a team near the 20's. Now, you could beat them on a neutral court without it being considered an upset.

As for the NT job, i wouldn't worry to much. pretty sure Eminence will provide enough help behind the screens even if he ain't elected. And i think i know who's gonna run for your NT next season :D

Just wanted to say a quick congrats to everyone, we have 12 of the current NT players home in England :) It's great to see that it is really a community effort. Several other notables are also on English squads.

Also, quick announcement, Michael Andrews owner appears to have gone bot and he'll be hitting the TL in a couple of weeks, if anyone has some funds saved up and is interested in picking him up just get in touch with me so we can go over some of what I'll be looking for in training before you pick him up :)

I could be interested but I must know more: can he be trained? in what skills? will he be locked in a specific training that could be a problem in 6 weeks? ...

By PM if you want ;)

2nd game didn't quite live up to the hype of the first one. Starters Sharpling and Hongs showed they can play the guard spots in an inside offense. But our backups just straight forgot to show up, with Gascoigne and Marshall somehow racking up -21 PDs in only 7 minutes of action!

lol.

The hero's of game 1 really got slaughtered on the court today. still agin amusing and entertaining results. Sharpling isn't a surprize. But you really gotta work on that TO rate...

wow, i just checked this out. They had 3 visits to the court at only a couple minutes each but did give up -21pd :<
They were subbed in with other reserves i think, so perhaps it is a case of englands weaker line up facing a stronger belgium line up for small parts of the game with belgium taking full advantage?
the other guys didnt show such a bad pd because they played with a stronger line up/it averaged out over more minutes. Perhaps. But what do you reckon?

while the level of drop off is extreme, it's not exactly surprising that Hongs and Sharpling can kill a 2-3 zone and the young guys can't. If you know this game, a ten second glance at the roster would tell you that.
