i think little randomness is ok. i ve heared people whining about no random factor at all, that this game is not fun. here it is. as for B3 itself i am soccer fan and every summer i am looking forward to watch UEFA draw for CL and Europa league. Even with seeding system which i love it is still good luck or bad luck. Here, there is no easy way to make everbyody happy. When you are best you dont care about draw. When you are one of 50 competetive teams that could be in top 32, than yes, random plays a role. Make you try harder next time, keeps you focused and that is fun-prove everybody u deserve it next season. Market is dead most managers dont sell becose of prices so this (trying to improve your team for next season) makes you do a move on market so we all are happy its not dead. So sum it up: i dont see much reasons to change something that works pretty good.

Is the B3 winner always one of the best? Yes it is. So whats the problem with this system? Every competition you play u will face better and worse teams. Don´t they deserve the spot? Would they have motivation to play this game if they are excluded? Yes, maybe i am not getting it. How about league promoting and demoting, shouldn´t that systems be adjusted? Cup tournament, i faced top league opponent in round 2 and whole season i was 1 balled in fan survey and some bot made it to round 5, poor me i had no fun..

Does seem to be a little too random for the group stage. Maybe the best suggestion for to even it out is to make the games neutral court. If you draw two good teams on the road you're in trouble. HCA is so strong in BB you can't just be better to win a road game, if you have to be much better.

At this level there so many great teams that injuries, GE randomness and foul outs should be enough to mix it up even with neutral court in the group stage. Plus basketball is a sport that has fewer upsets than most of the others.

I wasn't much better than my opponent...

On neutral court you beat that team 80% of the time. Give him HCA and it's a toss up. BC Lučenec is making a game of that only due to the significant effect of HCA.

That's exactly the same situation in NFL and nobody complains about that.

NFL is probably the only sport/league that has fewer upsets that basketball. The difference is HCA is more pronounced in BB than in real life. Add in the huge gulf between the best and worst teams in BB and there's a huge random effect from the draw and HCA.

Yeah, the very best teams that have stockpiled up money and can spend into the negatives on a weekly basis should see their way through, but for everyone else the chance that you move on is heavily dictated by the random draw.
