It must have, even if it wasn't supposed to. Some options I can think of:

1. The prior owners points carried over (i was told this didn't happen)
2. The scouting works very differently from what we understand in terms of distribution through the various levels.
3. The scouting is somehow wrong?

that is not the only explanation.

The other is that bots teams invest on scouting $10000/w. Something like this I expect is the answer.

Just an inkling because the number of players shown is 24 (8x3 i.e. the number of league games played) + 5 extras from somewhere else... not sure but there are weeks (i think just 1) were teams only get 1 league game.

I was under the impression that bot teams didn't scout, I've asked this before when trying to figure out how much to scout in my own team since I joined late in the season.

Is it only active teams that take part in the draft? I ask because it seems to me that if an A+ player is is in the default No.1 position (or just fairly high) then they would automatically go to a low finishing team even if it is a bot. In my series the lowest human managed team is in 6th place so theoretically it's that team that should get the first choice instead of the 4-5 bots who finished level or below in the series.

The player lists are randomized per team. Player 1 for you would be 12 for someone else and 37 for yet another team etc. My understanding is bots will choose the highest listed player in order when their turn comes up, regardless of whatever their ratings may be. So if you have an A+ player listed first in your list, it's still very possible he'll be available when your turn comes up if you have an inactive series.

Thanks for the answer mate. Much appreciated.

There still seems to be a chance a good player might end up with a bot but I guess that's the chance you take. I can also understand how unfair it'd be for very active leagues if the 4 active teams in my league all split the 5 star players and so on between them.

On what day does the new scouting info come up? Just a curiosity from a new player. PS...why the cheesy player images & why are all my players white?

No new info will come up.

Your scouting for this season is done, your current draft list will not change. Any scouting you do now counts towards next season.

Scouting is over... investment paid now is for next season?
is this true???

you mean, I'm new, am in the laziest spot on the standings, get 5th pick in the draft, and because the previous owner din't put any money in scouting I don't have much usefull info....

I started spending money right away on scouting, because I'd hoped on a little more info for my draftlist... o well, at least I'll get info for next year then.

The more I read , the more I realise this is going to be more of a challenge than I expected. I was assuming I started out as any other player, but it seems I have a big part of catching up to do before I can reach the point where any average beginner would start from.

Kind of exciting. ;)

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

we give everyone a base level of scouting to deal with the problem of people who sign up very late in the season.
