favours is quite a good complementary piece to brooke lopez... if he develops into a prototypical PF then nets would possibly have the best front court...

kinda dumb that nets would trade him away along with 2 first round... considering he was taken top 5...

which 2 first round draft picks were they?

oh crap, just remember jazz already have Jefferson and Millsap... both are pretty good PF already... not to mention okur... I would be pissed as favours....

imagine if williams refuse to sign with the nets in the offseasons... basically they gave away their possible future for half a season of "glory"..

The two picks the Jazz received are the Nets’ 2011 first-round selection and a 2012 first-rounder the Nets had acquired from the Warriors, which is protected through the first seven picks.

poor Jerry Sloan, he prolly knew Deron was'nt going to resign and did'nt like his attitude. players like Stockton and Malone are very to come by in this day and age.

Favours hasn't really played well to date. But his ceiling is still pretty high.

Look for Jazz to trade away Millsap, he's worth a bit and they can get good young talent for him.

Kirilenko and Okur will be traded too. Jazz are rebuilding now, with Favours and Jefferson both being youngish.. it'll be a good foundation, especially if they can get rid of the 3 mentioned above for a SG and SF.

I know he's good, but to trade him to get a top 5 PG in Deron and an allstar, is good business cause you're getting a guaranteed talent as opposed to a maybe.

But he's an upgrade to the PF slot, they can trade away the others for other positions. Harris is pretty decent.

Not really splitJ they will have a boatload of cap space if he doesn't resign. Also with the new CBA going through this could be a massive boon. If a hard cap comes in and contracts become capped at 3 or 4 years like the owners want Deron could be had for a lot lower number than what they would have had to pay Carmelo.

I would rather have a proven player than one with "upside" and that's exactly what Nets have done in getting Deron for Favours. Also if i was a FA this offseason i would prefer to sign with a team that has Lopez and Deron as opposed to one that has Harris Favours and Lopez.

That is a massive massive stretch. Lopez is a solid big guy who doesn't rebound well and Favours may never be any good. To say they had the potential to become the best front court in the NBA is akin to suggesting a Div 4 team will win the cup this year!

Looks like Carmelo has proven his worth with the Knicks monstering the Bucks today. (Yes, tongue in cheek)

Hope he learns to share the ball or we may see a pouting Amare soon enough.
