In his particular case (a blowout), this guarantees that the reserve players will get as close to 12 minutes as possible (otherwise they'll likely be closer to 20.


That may well also work. I personally don't play a player strictly as a reserve in any position because I remember hearing that if a player is not a starter or a backup, he might get substituted into another position instead. But I'm just as likely wrong there since I don't risk it personally.

Thanks a lot for your explanations. Obviously I was quite lucky until now, because it was the first time it happened to me and I'm playing buzzerbeater for quite a long time now...

So in fact it's better to fill out the empty slots....

Are your sure that you used "coach decides" and not "stictly follow depth chart"? If you use a blank lineup and SFDC you will have a very funny lineup usually.

Well, BB, for the second time in as many weeks the wrong formation happened again. My PG (no. 1 trainee) was set as Starter/Backup/Reserve [I checked this lineup in a future match] and there were no extra players on the bench outside the nine players I set. HOWEVER, my PG (Johnny Dogan) Played 30 minutes before being subbed off for my Starting SF! WTH? FYI: Strictly Follow Depth Chart. How does this happen!? Sure, my team was up by a massive margin at 3 qrt time but I have never had this happen prior to these two previous incidents.

Please find out what is going on?
