** Slight hijack of the thread warning **

That would be me when I updated BBstats for season 24 ;) I always load all the Australian leagues before anyone can be sold that way we have a complete list.

There is a slight issue with old players hanging around in the database (all Niko's fault I might add ;) ) so you might have to check that an 18yo really is an 18yo and it isn't an old record turning up. Unfortunately to fix it requires a major re-write :(

** We now return you to your regular forum thread **

Because I understand the game, I've some experience and I know what I'm doing: I am not a newbie that will need to get babysitted permanently in order to avoid a super screw up.

I believe the manager should be posting often on the offsite forum or where ever talk can be held in private. Updating player stats often and explaining to those interested how and why we plan to play the next game and a rundown afterwards as to what worked and what did not each game will mean people will get something from visiting to see what is going on.

I am 100% not for putting all into a federation as we totally exclude most of the managers in Australia and make it harder for then to become involved. I plan on pushing for each nation to get a NT federation non supporters can join, but until then the offsite forum is the way to go from my end.

I would also use it for bring back the old mentor system. There are many new people joining up that if we can get involved and active may become supporters later and be able to include more.

We will not be a world power unless we get more managers locally more involved in the game and the NT sides in general. Training a 21 NT player is the quickest way to get someone active and would be a major goal of mine to get more managers locally helping and addicted to playing this game like so many of us are.

Yep, if you associate U21 coach and PR guy, I'm not your man. I signed up for the coaching gig, I'll leave the babysitting, advertising and blah blah to other managers.

Second Team:
Redbacks
wheres the rest of the 18yr olds?

Well i wont be voting for a manager that cant get the skills of the u21 and potential u21s up on the site. As a very keen trainer its something that is lacking currently and has been disappointing for a while.

I also know (from making contact with dozens of trainees last season) that many managers have been keen to hear "how is my trainee tracking". Someone willing to stick their neck out and tell them would be well received. I tried last season, with both a potential team, and a top 5 rating last season for the guards. I think the managers that saw how their trainee compared to others showed them things they needed to see to better their own trainees.

I'm still waiting to hear your 'vision'...your 'plan'...hell, anything that remotely resembles why you should be the next U21 NT coach and what your plans are other than not listening to anyone. This isn't a personal attack, mate. When you put your name in the hat you must surely expect to be questioned about your plans for the team? Yes? No?

I don't know you, ezilife. I don't know what you've done. I don't know what you can, will and won't do. for all those mangaers reading this who have no idea who is who and what they've achieved...what do you say to them? Why should they vote for you?

Are these not valid questions?

I have set up a suggestion thread for getting a federation or private forum for NT teams.
Anyone keen should head over and post your support for the suggestion.

I was just as enthousiastic as you are a few seasons ago when I coached the SA U21 NT. But today I'd answer no, these are not valid questions. When people wonder what you've done, they'll most likely check out your team and your results. I doubt that the majority will read your autobiography.

i might add you dont really need to win all 5 or 6 of those games you only need to qualify to the next stages and thats when the games and winning start. By the looks of it though you would want to come either second or third depending on who comes first and were certain other teams come in each group. Worked well for me anyway

I saw your posts in the Wombat thread and could have commented but plenty already were. If I've got nothing to say I'll say nothing. If I had something of value to add to what other managers were saying, I would have said it.

As for your dig at my inability to 'get the skills of the U21 and potential players'...it's not that I don't know where to get them or even how to get them but haven't yet...I'd like to say I always have everything at my fingertips to keep you and others happy but I haven't...

As I said we would need to work out our needs before those last 2 games and decide how we want/need to play them.
