lol that may be it.

but i was sure it was on the ask bb day and that it went into a bit more detail.

though

experience means more than just minutes logged.. it means minutes logged in key situations, having the ability to make key decisions

really says it all right there doesnt it.

What is the highest level of experience you ever saw? One of my players is at level 12 and he did the level up recently, unfortunately, I didn't track his advancement from 11 to 12.

Hello,

I can't find another thread bout exp, so am gonna ask here.. What's the point of players exp, i mean what advantage he gets? I understand irl he would be better in the end of the match, but is it in a same way in BB?

Cheers

I have a theory based on my being involved in writing a computer game many years ago. This is how it starts a few guys are sitting around and creating the game. They have to sart somewhere and I'll bet the game engine is one of the areas they did first. Imagine this sort of conversation.

Bob: So how will experience work?
Charlie: You get a boost in experience every 1500 minutes of playing.
Bob: But private leagues shouldn't count.
Charlie: Ok, private leagues wont count.
Bob: And scrimmages don't make you a great player, no-one takes someone seriously because they have scrimmaged.
Charlie: Ok, half experience for scrimmages.
Bob: What about the Cup? It is a lot more important than league games.
Charlie: Grrr. Ok, Ill, make the cup count double. Can we move on now?
Bob: What about playoffs? That is when people really learn.
Charlie: Stop! Ok! Playoffs can count triple. That is every type of game covered, can we...
Bab: But the last minutes of a game are the big thing. That is the pressure! That is when legends are made. Taking a shot in the last minute of a game when the game is on the line is worth 500 minutes of scrimmaging...
Charlie: Shut up! Ok, I'll add 100 mins for every shot in the last minute and 500 for the game winner! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Anyway this is often how our programming sessions went with the coders being constantly annoyed by the creative people.

So all I am sayingis there could well be a hybrid system something like:

experience = league mins + .5 scrim mins + 2 x cup mins + 3 x playoff mins + 500 per buzzerbeater +...

Anyway I have read studies here somewhere where people claimed to have fairly tight recordings of minutes and experience pops and have come up with serious experience bands. I am utterly amazed by the 2 pops in 3 weeks claim, but I just thought I would suggest a way in which it would be possible.

You need to control for the fact that these players play less minutes per game due to the risk of fouling out ;)

That's a really intriguing idea. Looking to my own players probably isnt too useful because the only guys I have who are really aggressive are 19 (although I've used both for at least a full season and both of their experience is atrocious) but I think you could very possibly be on to something here.

There is one thing i have noticed. Most of my team has atrocious/pitiful experience. One of my guys has proficient. 95% of the times when a quarter/game is ending he takes the final shot(I think because of his proficient exp), therefore, does that mean that all my other players will not get the experience they need? I mean, if this is true that the quality of the minutes matter, than all the experience from games will only go to the most experienced guy in the lineup(in my case a 33 yo lost hope). Opinions?

i don't believe that the quality of minutes matter, but i can not guarantee it.

During my team as U21 coach, the XP of the whole team raised pretty much with the same speed(i believe 5-6 weeks after the first up, all the guys of the same age group got their up too)
