Charlotte hornets is an old name. Do you not remember mugsy bogues, larry johnson and alonzo mourning playing together?

Milwaukee would be as bad as the sixers.

Charlotte will be again known as the HORNETS as of the start of the 2014 Season. Bye bye hopeless BOBCATS. Hopefully they can get back to those days.

And you left out crazy leaping Rex Chapman, big whitey in the middle Matt Geiger, sharp shooting Glen Rice and one of my favs Kendal Gill. Oh I remember.

yeah surprisingly I remember all those names LOL
I was a kid back then.

There was also Anthony Mason in a Hornets jersey before he went to the Knicks.

Actually, Anthony Mason came to the Hornets in the Larry Johnson trade.

I was in my 20's in the 90's and living the dream playing street ball every day at the old Darling Harbour basketball courts. It was the sport to play back then... great times.

hahah yeah basketball was pretty big in Aus back in the 90's when we had free to air NBA on channel 10. Heck even NBL was huge! Always cheered for the Syd Kings, but the Melb teams where too good. Dominated by SE Melb magics, Melb Tigers and North Melb Giants. Perth Wildcats and Adelaide 76ers were pretty okay teams too.

As a kid I watched the Chicago Bulls versus Phoenix Suns finals and was immediately hooked on the sport.
Even though the whole world was going for the Bulls cos they only know MJ, til this day I still follow the Suns.

I remember getting a pair of black Larry Bird converse weapons from the States back in high school, every one gave me s*#t about wearing black shoes... wasn't long after that, no one wore anything else.

I was a Kings and Cannons fan back then as I knew a few guys who played on the teams and used to train with the Cannons when I lived in Canberra before I moved to Sydney in 91'. I followed the Bulls since I came to Basketball, I was reading about this Micheal Jordan guy from North Carolina, which was the College I followed on ABC when they played the Tourney, Mike ended up with the Bulls and so did I.

@Urmumma Darling Harbour was good for star power as well. I used to hang out with Shaun Bradley while he was out here on his mission (my claim to fame, blocking him at the rim in a game on a dunk attempt, 7'6" vs 6'0" with 40" vert... oh, and white) also met Scott Brooks, Dr J and a few nuff nuffs during the NBA Jam Exhibition, played with Wrex n Effect (look it up young folk) Montell Jordan, Mark Morrison and a few years ago played some 3 on 3 with Jamie Fox when he was out here for Stealth.

I miss those times, now I'm 42, just had my 2nd knee reconstruction 2 weeks ago, and resigned to being one of those old timers talking about it all over a beer... sad really.

Yeah, was pure luck actually, i was there for a knicks v thunder game in the off chance i could have a meeting with KD (alas that didnt happen) Anyways, day after that game was a knicks "legends" night and it happened to be LJ who was doing the meet and greet, so i got on the phone and was lucky enough to get in the queue and got to meet and have a photo taken and my game tix signed. Thats my 15 secs of fame hahah
One day i wanna go to okc and watch a home game of the thunder, that'll be sick, maybe get lucky again and have KD sign my KD rookie jersey from the sonic days lol ; )

mate, nothing sad about that! Seems like you've lived the dream, i'ld take being 42 and 2 knee recon's to have had the experiences you've had
By Mark Morrison, are we talking about the Mark Morrison of the "return of the mack" fame? i loved that dude!

Yeah that's the guy.

He tried to hit on my girlfriend at the time when we were all playing pool in a club with the Adelaide 36ers guys, she snubbed him bad and he got heaps from his entourage... so funny to watch.
