im thinking......

shot blocking is something to help with the inside defense.

if your opposition going to make 5/10 a game with your ID
you might lower it to 3/10.

im thinking shot blocking only effect the shot that are going to make the basket despite your ID,
when ID stats determine the opposition should score the basket, that's when SB come into play.

i mean if they are going to miss everything from your inside defense stats, the shot blocking is no needed.

thus makes shot blocking only a compliment to ID

i think......
Their offense - Your Defense = Actual Shooting % without Block Shot
Actual Shooting % without getting Blocked - Shot Block = True Shooting % for the game

I think shot blocking is useful in one way or another, we just don't see exactly what. If it was useless, it wouldn't be there in the first place. But one thing I want to note is that it's only put as secondary skills for C. If it was an important skill and a skill which forces a shooter to alter the direction of the shot etc, I think it would be listed as secondary skills in other positions too. But then again, it could be that the people who wrote the list of skills a player need didn't know that shot blocking is actually an effective skill in terms of defense...

Itis, but again none is paying 8M, for any big man on those days. Yes in the past was that case. 8M is a money that are reserved for the very special players, and still i am not sure if anyone would pay that amount for any player...As about the income, i think that the max that we can have is 1M. Talking about my team, 856k, with well above to average merchandise profit (around 130-150k). So on that money we should be able to reassemble the best team that we can, but also have to worry for the future renew to our teams. For example, i recent sale a very good SG, that i bought him when he was 26 for 4.3M, and after several tries i got only 1.6M for him on his 29. I replaced him with a much much better player, but if i had than monster i couldnt afford to do it. Plus the taxes if you buy/sell very often, plus the Fun servery.

As far as about rebounding, its a skill that is very clear how it helps you to win games, and thats why managers are willing to pay for it. Not comparable. If we get a clear evidence that SB can have good value for money, i guess that people will start to pay for it.

And yes the salaries of the big men are absurd compared to the guards...

Hi, I read this very interesting thread but I still have some doubts.
My main question is, ¿is useful SB for guards or SF? I'm thinking about train this skill to my guards but i'm not sure if it is useful or should i train better ID...

What do you think is better, had a PG with ID 12/SB 4 or a ID 10/SB 8?
I have the guards close to cap and i'm thinking about giving some inside trains.

I'm a little concerned that in the game manual says:
"Shot Blocking: Will help to block shots. Not very useful for perimeter players."
But I want to believe that this ability does more to raise the salary.
And if the SB are very useful to stop the attacking guards in a look inside movement?

Greetings and appreciate any opinion on.

PD: I apologize for my English

Besides the big man, does anyone investigate whether shot blocking would be useful for guards?

I think it would. Not as useful as for bigs, but still. I used to have guards that have mediocre or average shot blocking, and they really helped me defend inside. They were also able to block jump shots more often than the guards with low SB. Anyone else agree with me?
