I know what you are saying but the plan has always been for this coming week, the rules using the terms loosely haven't changed.. My mind is it this one round means this much then don't nominate..

I know seeing as you mingle with many of the aussie teams being the U21 coach that community spirit is in you iwen, put it in perspective, you have changed your mind don't try and put it back on the guy who has organised this.. You too Ranga!

All I said was bad timing.

I was happy to participate a month ago when this was about to start again, but seeing the date we will be playing, I don't want to play my scrubs, it'll be against the spirit of it, so I pulled out.

Or,

I can say nothing, and play my scrubs.

I am sorry too for any misunderstanding. I think Ralph has done a teriffic job organising this and perhaps I wasn't clear enough at the start and that is my fault. I said I would love to play but in the last week of this season. Next season first week I will probably run two trainees and three scrubs in the first scrimmage. I just can't afford injuries if I have any chance to win the title next season, my roster is very thin on stars, losing one would be devastating.

If you like I can advertise in our PL forums and in our Federation. There may be people that read them and not this.

Look, if it helps, I'll still play my game, just get whoever was my matchup to organise my scrimmage.

With millions in the bank I'll just buy someone else to replace any injuries.

This ANZAC war is not in the ANZAC spirit it would seem. What's the deal?

Iwen was trying to do the right thing (withdraw so as not to field scrubs against a strong opponent) in the spirit of the game, and gets harrassed.

Given that I put my name in and didn't get a gig highlights that NZ is being too selective; either open it up to everyone who wants to play or don't. If you don't and you're too selective of top teams then expect situations like those that have arisen recently. I admit that I sold my stars (if you could call them that) and, in a tanking season, now have a team not worth playing, but this is BB. There are teams vying for the championship and need to rest stars to prevent injuries; there are teams that have a go and throw caiution to the wind; and there are teams (myself included) who are tanking. We all know how BB operates so I don't understand the animosity when a manager tries to play fair and gets shot down.

where's the ANZAC spirit boys? It's okay to be competetive but if it gets too serious then it taints a good thing...

For the record, despite being snubbed, I'm withdrawing on the grounds I've got a shitty tanking team! :P

Everyone take a breath. It's a good concept, give it a chance. I am out matched but will give it my all to win. If i get an injury, who cares, I can deal with that.

Bloody aussies saying I promised something when I didn't. I would really like to see one of them run it.

The spirit of this is to get as many people playing by PLAYING, not withdrawing.

I'm human, I do make mistakes. Sorry about that.

Look, Ralph54, setting up this Scrim War isn't easy given the personalities in the game. Hell, it wouldn't be as enjoyable if there weren't the different personalities. I'm sure your doing your best with what you've got to work with and I appreciate that you want teams playing and not withdrawing. All I can really say to that is while I'm sure those who put their hand up initially to play in the ANZAC Scrim do so with the best of intentions, in the ANZAC spirit if you like, shit happens. Of course, as you would no doubt acknowledge, as much as managers want to play in the ANZAC Scrim it is a secondary choice to progressing in BB leagues. This is where the problems arrive. Teams make decisions based on their needs for next season THEN realise how it will affect the ANZAC Scrim War they initially agreed to and were keen to play in. I just think we need to realise that this will happen and roll with it. If we can all 'roll' with the changes that occur prior to the ANZAC Scrim actually starting while still have a reasonable amount of teams available then great, all is good. IF not then perhaps a re-think for future Scrims needs to occur.

While it is only a game, and a very competitive one, our two countries have a strong history. Let's keep it that way.

Very good point. Btw hopefully the grouping does help, not make it worse :P. Oh well, guess that is how it works.
