This ANZAC war is not in the ANZAC spirit it would seem. What's the deal?
Bloody aussies saying I promised something when I didn't. I would really like to see one of them run it.
Iwen was trying to do the right thing (withdraw so as not to field scrubs against a strong opponent) in the spirit of the game, and gets harrassed.
The spirit of this is to get as many people playing by PLAYING, not withdrawing.
Given that I put my name in and didn't get a gig highlights that NZ is being too selective; either open it up to everyone who wants to play or don't.
I'm human, I do make mistakes. Sorry about that.
Look, Ralph54, setting up this Scrim War isn't easy given the personalities in the game. Hell, it wouldn't be as enjoyable if there weren't the different personalities. I'm sure your doing your best with what you've got to work with and I appreciate that you want teams playing and not withdrawing. All I can really say to that is while I'm sure those who put their hand up initially to play in the ANZAC Scrim do so with the best of intentions, in the ANZAC spirit if you like, shit happens. Of course, as you would no doubt acknowledge, as much as managers want to play in the ANZAC Scrim it is a secondary choice to progressing in BB leagues. This is where the problems arrive. Teams make decisions based on their needs for next season THEN realise how it will affect the ANZAC Scrim War they initially agreed to and were keen to play in. I just think we need to realise that this will happen and roll with it. If we can all 'roll' with the changes that occur prior to the ANZAC Scrim actually starting while still have a reasonable amount of teams available then great, all is good. IF not then perhaps a re-think for future Scrims needs to occur.
While it is only a game, and a very competitive one, our two countries have a strong history. Let's keep it that way.
