I don't think its that big a call for Geelong to miss the 8. They aren't currently in there, and as you've noted in your writeup, they have a reasonably tough run home...

Richmond are only one win behind, are in better form, and have an easier run home. I think they are more likely than Geelong to make it at this stage.

I shall be returning to this post in 3 months time! ;)

Richmond also rolled Sydney who everyone thinks highly of - I'm a saints fan and don't rate us much at all but we have been ok of late - would not surprise me if the Tiger do us easy on Friday and finish above us and in the 8.

Still the the cats will do enough to play finals as well

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against seeing Richmond do well... just that I've seen this movie before and it never ends well for Tigers fans. :p

(The sequel isn't much better either...)

I don't rate Sydney so that's not everyone! They got serious flaws prob more so then anyone else in the 8 imo and wouldn't surprise me to see them drop out for Geelong

Adel: big game next week, against Freo in Perth. If they lose they'll be in danger of slipping back to the pack, with games against St K, NM (away), Port (showdown), WCE, Geel (away) and Ess to come.

As a Crows fan, I've got to say I'm not that worried about a loss this weekend. We were hoping to win 1 of our 5 games in this block - 4 games in, we won 3 and got beaten by a Magpies side that played very well in the other. Even if we lose this, our run home is *SO SOFT*.

Our run home:
Freo (A) - might win
Saints (H) - should win
Kangas (A) - might win
Tigers (H) - should win
Power (A) - should win
GWS (A) - better win otherwise will cry
Eagles (H) - might win
Cats (A) - probably lose
Bombers (H) - might win
Freo (H) - should win
Lions (A) - should win
Melbourne (A) - should win
Suns (H) - see entry for GWS.

So, that's 8 games we should definitely win, 4 we may win (home ground advantage against all the tougher teams except the Cats) and one we will probably lose. If we take 2 of those 4 may wins, that gives us 17-5. which should keep us above most of the pack, I'd think...

Have I been too optimistic here?
