Looks like I'm investing in NT players next time around. Guess it doesn't really matter if they are American or not. Interesting.
Yeah, I think you should just find the best available players for the best available price. If they happen to be American, then great. If not, oh well. Keeping/having a couple drafted stars might be a good thing though. (IMO)
What's interesting:
Based on the reported numbers... you had the
exact same merchandise bonus that Kentucky had at the start of the season! Your $69k, vs. his " lucky to get 65-70K" (without NT playing time). So either 1 or more of the following is likely true:
A) a team full of Americans does even less than w_alloy estimated.

There's a cap on the bonus from American players & you both hit it. or
C) A couple drafted stars are worth the same as a team largely full of non-drafted American stars.
I wanted to see a Tanner-Alas matchup (At PF).
I'd like to see that matchup, but at center! [Appropriate emoticon goes here.]
Edit: blah, you posted when I was. It seems interesting looking at his team's history that he's suddenly now trying to win. Seemed kind of cool he was obviously focused on other things. (judging by the fact that he spent seasons 7-18 in D4 or lower) Cool factor is declining rapidly...
Edit2: wasn't being sarcastic with that. good to see people not always super desperate about winning / no-fun
Edit3: lol, when i skimmed over your post initially... for some reason I thought you were joking about an actual rivalry between me & Kentucky, not just the players. Multitask fail. Well, the following posts really are unprompted then, aren't they?
