Oh well at least I am making a good profit and will definitely be around next season.

We're all 'drafting' per se but if you're talking about scouting, I will as usual be taking a look at the draft even if my pick will be late-round. I've been paying for 2 scouting points per week for a few seasons now but I'll be looking to save quite a few this season so that I can have a really big look at the draft in a future season when my pick is better, possibly my first ABBL season if all goes to plan.

Highlight of the draft so far after doing the group demonstration; http://www.dowce.com/~Zf3

17 turnovers in one game!? WTF?

and 1 from 15 from the FT line.

the dude took 17 shots and went to the line 7-ish times. and turned the ball over 17 times.

what a ball hog.

I have 40 points saved up so seeing as I'm getting 2nd pick behind jacks I might as well see what's available.

40 points later... and... so disappointing.

best is a 5/4 A+ 19yr old so far at an awkward height.
I'm going to get some more points to spend in the last week or so.

I forget how many seasons I have played this game for now but I maintain my stance that the draft is a waste of money. I saved my points once and I have never been more disappointed with what drafted. I have got better players spending $0. If you spend 20K a week on scouting for two seasons (about 500 - 600k) then you could have just bought a good young player for that money. If you spend 40K (1mil - 1.2 mil) then you are probably someone that thinks you will win money playing the pokies.

you should only ever pay $5000 per scouting point (ie: Max $10k per week) unless you need an extra point or two or do something extra in one week.

I love the draft :)

3 MVP's, 2 Superstars, numerous Per-allstars. I think only season (that i spent points) did my strategy not work for me.

so yer - I love it :)

I've normally been of the same mind as Moose. Last season in the ABBL I figured out early that I was going to tank, so put money into scouting.
I managed to pull in Jack Chan, who is only a superstar but had pretty good starting stats. Hoping to give him a shot at U21 in a couple of season!
Sounds like you've been pretty lucky Regan!

I love the draft as well, and have done pretty well over the years (1 HOF, 1 MVP, 1 SS, 2 PA's). Unfortunately when i first started Buzzerbeater (season 20) I didn't know much about the game. I sold my 19 year old hall of gamer for 190K I guess markets weren't as strong as they are now.

This draft is an interesting one i've been doing 2 points for the whole year and did manage to find a 5/5 player, sorry to anyone who found him as well, as he is my number one pick. I'm excited to see if any HOF's come out of the woodwork.

Number of scouted players - 5
Group demonstration - 10
Number of Interviewed players - 6 x 2 = 12
so 27 points, some carried over from last year.
