may player talaga sa BB na magaling talaga sa passing even if low ang passing skill. parang yung hidden aggressive trait yan sa mga BB players pero ito passing trait lang. yung si gam ni jolo last season ang grabe magpass ng bola pure point guard talaga ang dating. well he didn't have much offense naman pero may players talaga na ganun magaling magpass.

ayun oh LBJ! :p

LABAN PILIPINAS! PUSO!

Robinson Solarta: From the Prodigal Son to The Savior of Pinas U21?

Averaging around 22 minutes per game during his first three seasons Robinson Solarta didn't stand out much from this years crop of U21 superstars. 8 points 2 rebounds 2 assists and 1 steal averaged per game wasn't enough for scouts to take notice of him. So so players as many said of Solarta.

His breakthrough game during the scrimmage between Canada and Philippines suddenly catapulted him to stardom. Now every newspaper and sports blog wants to interview the "Lebron James" of the U21 squad as PH Nz compared Solarta to. Solarta likes the limelight. His statement that he will be the best player of this seasons U21 squad showed how much confidence he has.

But many critics still doubt Robinson Solarta's ability to dominate in the U21 world scene. The Canada game they said was just one game. His career averages still show he is a mediocre player at most. Not like the Ulan Cantara and other great U21 players before him who proved themselves in league first before the U21 stage. One manager likened him to Alfonso Chan of last years U21 squad. Chan also had a so so league showing but he shined in the U21 scene last season and was one of the cornerstones of the championship team that won the Asian Cup.

Next u21 game will be a crucial test for Solarta which will be the first game of the U21 World Championship featuring Spain vs the Philippines. Will Solarta come out with another superb performance worth of LBJ? or will he be the LBJ of old who used to choke on big games. The pressure is certainly on Solarta to perform well or be mocked for coming out with big statement as the best player of the Pilipinas U21 squad this season. Watch the U21 wolrd championships next tuesday at 1:30 am! Laban Pilipinas!

Ken Benjamin Dumayas: The Chosen One

"I've never seen a U21 guard as good as Ken in ages". gushed U21 manager PH-NZ during Dumayas' first training session with the U21 squad. One could see PH-NZ literally drooling in awe while the practice session was in progress. Another ex U21 manager commented from the stands Dumayas could give ex U21 wunderkind Ulan Cantara a run for his money on any given day any given second. If he continues to training after his U21 duties are over he certainly has the potential to become one of the greats in the NT level of competition."

Aptly compared to Kobe Bryant by PH-NZ, league stats shows us what Dumayas can do offensively and defensively. While he maybe playing in lower leagues in the Pilipinas circuit, he could have won the scoring title in League 3.4 last season if he only played enough games to qualify. Praises feted on Dumayas are certainly well deserved and he did quite well also during the scrimmage game between Canada and the Philippines.

The Chosen One has a lot of weight on his shoulders to perform and lead this team to victory. With another U21 teammate Robinson Solarta raring to prove himself also, will Ken Benjamin Dumayas rise to the challenge? This seasons U21 world championships certainly has a lot of drama in store for us all.
