I knew you had me beat, I went with TIE to build for the playoffs, the rest of my games seem winnable by TIE. We’ll be gunning for in playoff if I get to the finals. GG either way! Happy it wasn’t a massacre lol

Well, the battle for playoff seeding between 2nd-5th in the Great 8 has gotten VERY interesting... If we assume each game in that group is won by the home team, and no big upsets happen the rest of the way, the standings would be:

2: Porch Pirates (16-6) (ahead by PD)

3: Kings31 (16-6)

4: EBW (15-7)

5: Tulsa (14-8)

And to think, the season before I showed up, 13 wins would have been good for 2nd in this conference, and the tropics were a playoff team. The teams that have promoted in have REALLY raised the bar around here.

Eh. Tbh I didn’t really have very much money to be throwing around anyway rn. I just saw Alba’s skill ratings and thought he could fit in with my rotation pretty well if I could get him on the cheap (or cheap compared to the rest of the b.b. economy rn). SLIGHTLY less of a threat on offense than Almeida but Way more salary-efficient and less of a liability on defense.

I expect Elias will get crazy expensive; I was hoping raising the bid by $30k right off the bat might scare some people off but no such luck. I hope you get him though, he’s at just the right salary range that you could afford to keep him even if you dropped to D4 or let him play as a backup in D2. I’m better off grabbing someone around 30-31 y.o. anyway, for my needs

Yeah, his comps are about what I can spend now after Alba, but I expect he'll go higher than that too. He's slightly more than I'm lookin for, but I'm takin a flyer.

Edit> went a different direction.. and I just realized.. I bought Alba at 400k, sold him for 409k 6 (I think) seasons later... not a bad rental price

I had some false hope a few weeks ago and thought my squad was good enough to stick and stay in DIII. Flash forward and it's looking more like relegation with a brutal schedule down the stretch against 1-4 in the Great 8 with one winnable game left.

The Great 8 lived up to the name this season and it will be a shame that one of the top 5 will not make the playoffs as they are all deserving. That is no slight to the Big 8 either, but had I been slotted on that side of things then this would be a different conversation.
