I think if anyone has read everything the BB's have said, they would stop tossing the number 40% about.

I agree that it was short notice, but if you are good, then you're on your toes.

I like the fact that the BB's are actively participating in the game and tweaking it. Here is some interesting reading:

Hattrick was launched in 1997.

Its initial launch lasted only seven weeks (or rounds), and all changes to the team were made by submitting a HTML form with the user's username and password, meaning that the user never actually logged in to the interface. The release was re-coded and Version 2.0 was launched. The new release allowed for a total of 680 teams and added a few features still available today, such as the transfer list and a league pyramid (though teams' positions in the series were determined by random selection during the offseason).

A new version was re-launched the following season, and this release marked the debut of friendly matches and cup matches.

The following season, Season 4, also added features such as training types beyond General, Set Pieces, and Stamina, and an expanded set of in-game skill levels.

Season 7, which began in July 1999, marked some real progress in the game. New tactical options were added so that teams could change their formation from the fundamental 4-4-2. Teams could also set their players' individual tactics, such as offensive or defensive.

After Season 7, ExtraLives AB was formed and the team began development of Version 5.0. Roughly nine months later, Hattrick V.5 was launched.

Hattrick is in its 36th season and has been running since August 30, 1997.[2] Most users cite Season 11, which began October 15, 2000, as the beginning of Hattrick as it is today.

(all that hattrick info is from wikipedia)

It took Hattrick 11 seasons to reach what it is today. The BB's are doing very well.

I think that these changes are pretty good. Teams flow between divisions aren't good (1 team up from 16 per season), so it is not so hard to board up somewhere and make an well profit just because here still aren't trained players - I want to say available goods on a market - and it takes a time and is our job to do it (to train them for the future of all teams)

these temporary changes should be here as long as possible, because if someone registered first and now win a prices from a before used daytrading, or just a regular training which started first and noone can catch him.. that is not good

meanwhile these teams in fact never thinked about have their's players multiskilled enough to take as less money as possible, see "eliminate shotblocking" thread on one forum, bleah

do a progress is a one way, but do it with not much wages, that's a truly artistry

thank you for another great implementation BBs

To the BBs: do you guys talk to the HTs about the economy and how to drive economic policies?

God I hope not.

The problem is that you're targetting the 'average DI team, which is not necessarily a good measure. If you saw the problem as coming from excessive arena income, you should have indeed targetted large arenas only through something like arena upkeep.

Yes, this problem might be offset by the improved attendance formula, but a young DI team who actually needs to expand his arena to feel these benefits will struggle mightily for no good reason.

Thanks, great answer ;)

Could you pls let me know how do you think to solve the huge differences there are between the countries? If I plays in the Nigeria championship probably I will have 100k profit month (just for example) and I can save a lot of money winning matches. I'm in second division probably I will not play in first division next season and already I don't lose money but also I don't make it. If I can win a championship with 50k/salary for all the team, I'll be always more rich than the others and today the users of BB aren't so much so at the end we will see that the richest teams will be the teams where there isn't a strong competition. This is only a question but this is a thing that you will have to face in the near future, don't you think?

the conundrum for Nigerian teams (or others from smaller nations) is to encourage them to want to develop teams that are able to compete in the BB3... realistically i could slash my salaries by 40% and remain competitive but then why would should I not have a fair crack of taking my team as far as possible in another competition just because im from smaller BB nation.

as long as we are not penalised attendence wise then the choice will at least be there...

the more you think it through the more difficult it is to find a perfect scenario for everyone - but if we can come through these kind of big changes then anything new (that has been discussed in advance) should be a breeze!

its just nice to know the channels of communication are open and that all comments are being considered...

the economic situation was pretty clear months ago, it's not like the surplus of money came into existence out of nowhere last night.

I think this is an incorrect assumption from what I understand. Would BB-Charles maybe clarify?

ROTFLMAO.

Maybe just even to learn from their mistakes? :-)
