but that link works now, i suspect that you had a temporary timeout problem and if you tried again and again you might get it eventually.

I did try it again and again, and again, because i was trying to bid on that player, but no matter how hard i tried i still wouldn't have gotten him. So what i am trying to say is that this is in no way an error on me. I had no possibility of bidding on him

We are aware of one problem with have with bidding on players, this is when we are processing a match players who are participating in that match have their data rows locked and nobody can bid on them. We have discussed some possible solutions to this problem, but haven't come up with a good one yet.

So basically, you aren't going to do anything about Jari-Pekka Urpala (11071588), and I get screwed...

unfortuantely as with many problems, going back to "fix" it, would result in an unfairness to somebody, so there is no fix which wouldn't screw somebody over and so our general policy in these cases is not to do retroactive fixes.

How about putting that player on the market for only me and the current owner to bid on him, starting at $850,000, or the exact price that he was purchased for?

Edit: That would make it as if the server had never "timed out" and i would have kept bidding on him. Also, we could have a bidding time agreed upon by both users, and the extra money would go to the team that sold him. That seems pretty fair to me.

the problem with that is we have no idea what further choices both the current seller and the current owner have made predicated on the sale as it went through, both the fact that it went through and how much was paid could have caused them to make other choices, like expanding the arena, or buying a second player, and now they wouldn't have the money to compete with your bidding, but if the bidding had been just extended at that time they would have had the funds available.. you see the sorts of problems that come up when you retroactively try to fix things?

i'm not trying to deny you were disadvantaged, just that fixing that disadvantage is not possible without disadvantaging someone else.

Okay, i can see how that would affect other choices made, but I noticed the team who bought the player did not make any changes to their arena and have only sold a player who would seem to be a reserve. I am pretty sure it would be fair to start a bidding like i mentioned earlier. Wow, this reminds me of "Back To The Future".

I'm not trying to be annoying, but just to point out, unfortunately we can't tell what the player WOULD have done. For instance, it is very probable that the team that bought your player, was in the market for a player of that kind, and made the decision to pursue the player you were bidding over rather than the another player... but maybe if the price had gone up a little bit they would have changed their mind and bought a different player. Now of course that different player isn't available anymore and then we would have to let him bid on that player too... and so on and so on.

I think you are right about back to the future.. you can't generally go back in time, change one thing, and expect everything to remain the same.
