I guess until u are experienced its not always easy knowing how weak a team has to be before u can win playing TIE against them so people eye on the side of caution.

Well, it is just my opinion. I think that having an enthusiasm strategy is at least a start. I see some teams with good talent but it becomes less useful because they cannot put together a good enthusiasm strategy.

I think that the general rule that I outlined above is a good place to start, though. I would always think twice before playing normal or crunch on the road.

I agree but you kind of forget about impact of losing a road game (prior to the next one at home) on game receipts. It is better to throw a home game rather than a road one if you have to and have a choice.

to all: Usually TIEing all the time is useful strategy and it depends on how other teams in your league managing it (and how trustworthy they are) to say how much success you can do with it in your case.

The impact on gate receipts is a marginal consideration in my opinion. First, the BBs have already said that losing at home impacts the fan survey more than losing on the road. Also, "last game" is only one element in the fan survey.

In addition, if a team is better than you, it is very difficult to beat them on the road unless you have some element of surprise (ie: they don't consider you a threat so they play their B-team and/or play TIE). Upsets on the road are more difficult to achieve than upsets at home.

However, I won't disagree that there is a time and a place to normal or crunch an away game.

So how long can you expect to have with an increased enthusiasm (before it returns to 5) if you only TIE the one game? Or do you really need to TIE more than one game to have an worthwhile effect from it?

I´ve been playing TIE during the whole season and it has been better than last season when i played normal. If you want a significant growth of you enthusiasm you have to play TIE several matches, it isn´t easy but at the end it seems that players get used to play TIE and they play better.
