Shot blocking actually costs substantially less than inside shot or inside defense in the salary calculations. I'm surprised we don't see more centers with ID, SB and RB and not train IS.

i am not surprized...

SB only becomes effective on top of the defence... you first need good defence, before you could possibly block a shot...

so then you wonder, what is worth more. a C with ID 14 and SB 12, or a C with ID 16 and SB 5?

i'd want the later one, since his defence will also put alot of pressure on IS 18 guy's... whereas the first one will not be able to defend the IS 18 C properly ( just giving an extreem example)

so i am not surprized to not see those ID, SB, RB C's with no IS

and those who claim that SB is needed for balancing outthe skills and tto trian it faster, then i'll tell you this.

the weeks you spend in training the SB, you could spend them in training the ID, IS or RB of your C, so timewise it doesn't matter.

just an oppinion from a guy who jsut wrote a training manual ( being read through by some other guy's, before it will be made public)

Yes but if a team is built around outside offense, inside scoring is largely a big waste of salary for that team because inside scoring shot attempts are few and far between. In theory some of that salary could be used for SB with big men on such teams.

Sounds a bi like we don't need peeches in an apple pie, put some melons in it.

in theory i would use it for rebounding and id instead of it ;)
