Steve is true. This tactic dont work in higest divisions from seson 11 when I again start this game I buy 2 18 years old players and train it some lucky trades and I get some good players in positions what I dont train. In first season I reached PO in divIV. Ok its not Spanish league, but there is some strong teams (this teams is stronger then new team). in seson 12 I win my lague with 21-1 (in cup i go to leg 5).
After promotion I think that I need 2 seasons to relegate to next divison, but now I have 11-1.
If I promote to div II after this season maybe after 4-5 seasons I can promote to divison I. becase I need better players. but I train only SG, PG.I need money For good C and PF, but then I need sell some players, but then my team become weaker (without backup).

So. You need train more players than you want keep in your rooster in higest divisons.

Interesting post. But it´s going to be difficult for him because in 4º division his income is not still strong enough and his trained players are beginning to get very very high salaries. He will need to adjust training in order to adjust salaries to his income. At the same time adjust training to contein salaries means less competitiviness. And the window to promote is going to be very narrow. In this situation if you don´t promote when you have the players salarie-wise in control the following season could be too late.

I didn't exactly blow up my team,but I hit the lottery and got 2 MVP potential guards,that I've trained ever since,and they got me to Div III(with a good chance of promoting) after 3 seasons..I already had a superstar one year older,and I sold him to fill my holes at Center and SF..Now Im making +110k/week,trying to get some cash for a decent PF to be able to at least stay in II (should I promote) and go from there..

Long-term planning rocks ;)

I want what all men want...I just want it more.

I told you I hit the lottery ;) Well,my team can't be considered a great example because not many people have the luck I had, but then again,I was able to maximize the value of my assets.

Yeah it is,when the big boys talk we can't really be part of the conversation because we're not in their shoes..

I want what all men want...I just want it more.

Well, this strategy is really interesting, but I think it has a few disadvantages:

1. This plan only works with PG/SG players;
2. You develop slower that the teams which train a player for a short term.
