You won't go to a different div 2 league. You either promote to div 1 or stay in the same league.

Yeah it's true that I will make more money if I promote to div 1 but my team is still not strong enough to compete in div 1...

You get tonnes of money to make your team competitive. That alone is worth it.

You will get heaps of money in div 1, and you will be able to improve your team a lot, and even if you don't do well you will have first draft pick next season so you can get a good trainee :P

Right, I guess you're absolutely right about that. But if I get promoted to div I, what should I be doing? still invest most of money on arena or save it and buy skillful players?

If you promote i would sell all players except trainees and just train them for the first half of the season. Put lots of money in to the arena. Then half way through, have a look where you are on the standings and if you can win enough games to come 7th. If you can then do that, if you can't then keep expanding arena and training.

Wait, so that means I'll only have 5 to 6 players (considering they are all my trainees). Oh, maybe I can do exactly what you're doing :P Have several players that I want to train and just get several very cheap players to manage the gameshape etc.

Exactly :) Just buy 1k players to fill the spots that you need to fill.
When you sell those 6 trainees at the end of the season you will get a lot of money to then spend on a good side that is competitive in div 1.

Your strategy of gutting your team to to save money is terrible. If you want to do it yourself that's fine, but I think it's ridiculous that you're telling new players to do it and no one is calling you on it. At least this is slightly more sane then your "sell every player and don't bother training" advice to another player.

The amount of money saved by having only five "real players" and a bunch of rotating filler will likely not balance out the cost of lost income from having a team that is getting destroyed for a half of a season. And selling your whole team while the market is still down doesn't make a ton of sense from a financial position either.

In addition, it means that the manager won't have the ability to learn how to manage a roster, an economy or tactics.

It is totally possible to build an effective team on a budget that would allow a player to stay semi-competitive without breaking the bank. It's not all or nothing.

I don't think it is a terrible strategy. I know there are many many teams that do it.
If he tanks, the first half of the season then he can be making a lot of money every week, don't know exact figures but probably close to 500k? Maybe less, maybe more.

I didn't advise anyone to not bother training if I remember correctly. I said that I wasn't training because I didn't think it was worth it. There is a difference.

Even if he loses every game he will still be making massive amount of money. And he will be training 6 players in 2 positions which will get him some solid players that he can keep or sell for profit.

He is currently 17-0 in his division, I think he knows how to manage a roster, economy and tactics, and even if he doesn't know he will learn as he goes.

As for selling his whole team, based on salary he doesn't have any really great players, so he wouldn't get much money from the players even in a good market. So I don't think it will make much difference.
