The draft is up to luck. It just depends who you scout. I have been lucky in the draft for a few sesaons, all it you have to do is scout the right player, or scout as much as you can afford and hope for the best.

I always put in 10k and so far in previous drafts have got a 6.5k SF, perinal allstar. A 4k PG, perinal allstar and a 4.5k SF superstar. Its all luck

I have great experiense of drafting good players even when finishing high up in the league. So i would strongly recomend to put 20k into the draft.

$20k is not the max, as the OP was originally recommended to do by another poster. And you said it yourself, you have a great experience in the draft, but that's not the case for everyone. I strongly believe the best advice is to commit what you can afford and what you are comfortable investing in scouting. Personally, I alternate between $10k and $20k depending on my income that week. That's what works for me and what I feel comfortable investing. There's no guarantee in scouting/drafting, so it's mostly a personal decision.

I wouldn't invest 40k$/week in any case, I mean you're spending 60k$ for only 3 points... 20k$ is far less expensive and you still get a lot of points for scouting. 12 weeks of 20k$ = 36 points, that's enough points imo.

Paying an extra 240$ for only 12 points isn't necessary. You can't scout the entire draft class anyway, even with 48 points so you'd better target your possible draftee. I mean if you're training frontcourt players look for big guys and if you're training backcourt players look for little guys (once you've used the 10pts option to know height and age). The other 10 pts option is really interesting it could save you a lot of points. So basically it leaves you with 16 points to properly scout. If you're lucky enough you'll have five or six 4 to 5 balls players you'll need 8 to 10 points to scout them, it leaves you with 8 or 6 points which you can invest on 3 or 2 other players. Seven players with complete info. on them is enough. Then it's about luck, so good luck with you're scouting and draft.
