For some reason people have failed to read the last sentence of my original post and are assuming I'm talking about guards. I'm not. I'm talking about role players in all positions who don't shoot well. Look at any such player on the TL and look at other players on the same team who are good scorers and you will see what I mean. In fact keep looking for a couple of weeks and you might understand the pattern that the GE throws up.
To have effective role-players, several things need to happen:
1. Players you
don't want to shoot the ball have to have high passing and experience. Not just so-so passing and so-so experience.
2. You have to actually have to have an overwhelmingly better offensive option. That is, someone else on your roster should be overwhelmingly better than their defender -- and have in mind that the AI coach makes adjustment, so just being so-so in this department will, again, not do.
3. You have to play a slow tactic. It's important that your squad keeps moving the ball until they find your overwhelmingly better offensive option for a shot.
The pattern that the GE throws up are highly contingent on what you throw _in_ the game engine. GIGO.
