First of all, I find it really funny that you try to insult me (greedy and stupid) and at the same time you are the one who does not understand sarcasm... ;) :p ^^

If sb. lists a player 6 times for the same price and does not sell them he a) is an idiot b) tries to find an idiot customer and thats simply not how a market works, because in the real world the idiot sellers go broke and the idiot buyers are a rare species.

What sense does an auction system have if it is recommended to list players at your desired selling price anyway?

For me this suggestion is done, almost all suggestions are killed by some random user who enters the thread and dumps some ******** about how the current state is perfect and its the users fault anyway (greedy, stupid, looking for the wrong players...) ^^ ;) :p

No need to try insult people (Knecht in this case) especially if you believe in existence of market in communism.

also in countrys without communism, selling staff is nearly always combined with cost independet from succesful or non succesful trys.

You need to pay storage, personal(or own effort), a marketing plattform(a store, or ebay etc.).

To say that we end up in communism when listening players cost money, bring me to the conclusion that the communist had won the cold war.

btw: Knecht watch your language a bit.

The current system allows for an owner to make a judgment:
"I will sell player X at price Y or higher, but at a price lower than Y, I would rather keep my player."

This leads to some ridiculous market listings, but I think that's fine. eBay allows for the same thing. To me, it's a necessary cost for a healthy market for sellers.

Penalizing high listings would constitute an attempt to determine the value of players, and a player's value is highly relative in BB. Nothing wrong that imo.

BB's transfer ads are like any others on the Internet - if you click and buy, you'll probably get ripped off. ;) But what can you do? They at least set market precedents.

Ebay charges fees regardless if a product is sold or not (listing fee), so this example of a "healthy market" rather backs my opinion than yours.

That's a good point, but it's not done to control the market; it's done to make eBay a profit. There is still no control over an eBay user listing an item at whatever price he/she chooses.

And this also has an affect to stop people from wasting everyone's time and their server space by listing products at prices that won't sell.

Also, a little bit of trivial data I collected over the last week as I was trying to sell a player of mine. I was looking at players of similar skills on the transfer market (I'm talking about the upper end players that cost 1 mill+) and I noticed that the clearance rate of these similar players is around 10-15%. So that means for every 10 players transfer listed, only 1 will actually satisfy both buyer and seller's prices.

The majority of prices listed at is way too unrealistic like a 30% surcharge on what the player realistically is worth. These same players just keep coming back up on the transfer list.

If you are a true believer of an efficient market theory then by right if you list a player for $1, then the market will drive his price up to what he is actually worth at that point in time (which takes into account time listed and skills).
