I really like the prospect of inner-league pick trading.

I think it could be included easily: the day after the regular season ends and the draft positions are fixed, a "league only" transfer market opens, where you can list your draft picks for a minimum bet of your choice if you want to get rid of them.

I also think there should be a maximum bet - 1,000,000 for first overall - 950,000 for 2nd - 900,000 for 3rd - 800,000 for 4 - 10 - 700,000 for 11 - 16 - 500,000 for any 2nd rounder - 200,000 for any 3rd rounder.

All auctions end Friday before the draft, no matter when you added your pick to the auction, so you know 3 days in advance how many and which picks you got.

If your scouting came up with several players of interest, you might want to take a gamble and get your hands on 2 or 3 picks, while if you don´t believe in the draft or cannot afford adding another prospect to your training rotation you might take the money and leave your guy unseen.

Just do a trade system without players, only involving picks and money. Each pick has a certain value: if you want to buy a pick, there is a set price. If you want to trade pick, the money is transferred based on the difference in pick value.

Sometimes reading your comments make me wonder if you don´t WANT to see the difference between what people are promisiing and what you say or that you cannot.

There is a HUGE difference between selling a PICK and selling a player you drafted, and of course there´s a huge difference between buying a PLAYER and a PICK.

If you buy a pick, you will use it to get a guy by your own preferences. That might not be the guy another person drafted there. You try to excel your chances of getting players you scouted and which are for some reason compelling to you. If you sell one, you don´t believe in the system or you´re simply selling the prospect of getting a useful player to someone who´s willing to pay for it.

I don´t exactly see your paranoid way of cheating if a pick can only be sold within the league. "If you have two teams in the same league"? Excuse me. Where does that happen? How would you cheat if you have fixed maximum bets, if all auctions end at the very same moment BEFORE the draft, and if it´s a closed system within a set league?

The only thing I see there happening might be a "money transfer" taking place which is NOT adressed for the draft but for "losing a game" or such. Like "lose that game and i´ll buy your 3rd rounder for 200k". Which is a valid point. But still, trading draft picks is a damn interesting option you refuse to see for whatever reason.

So yes, I can a system in which you´re only able to sell your first round pick, maybe even for a set prize (multiple bidding by different coaches should trigger some kind of "tie breaker system" to clinch the multiple interest), but the idea of selling it or acquiring some is still pretty awesome.

i believe you could invite teams to your league ;) or atleast it was possible in the past.

But i am not sure how it works out, when players just sell their picks and don't invest in scouting while other teams, buy most of the picks and heavily invest in scouting - looks a bit weird for me but opossible with the new system. And through the small market, picks could be relative cheap, especially in bot prome leagues, where picks get more valuable because the bot don't draft well.

But on the other hand it add more strategy in the draft.

Multiple teams is already cheating - this way you´re only to get caught easier. So this is not opening another door for cheating (as those who may use it by your way are already doing it anways), it also opens up a way of catching them.

I do see your point in lowest leagues of a country to some degree, but those leagues are filled with bots racking up the high picks anyways, so after all there´s a solid risk of straightout losing your money after you bough the 13th pick because some of the bots before you might accidentally grab one of the three useful players in the draft nowadays.

Opening up draft picks for the whole market doesn´t make much sense to me, as you simply have no scouting information about a foreign league. I prefer the closed market solution because it really adds another variation to the drafting process - it´s not even guaranteed you find a buyer for your pick. And writing down the price of your choice, only to make it a "will someone buy or not" thing seems pretty reasonable to me

You can make a ladder system, like:

no. 1 - 1,000,000
no. 2 - 900,000
no. 3 - 800,000
and then
no. 4 - 750,000
no. 5 - 700,000
...
no. 16 - 150,000

and no 2nd or 3rd rounders available for trading at all - the prizes sound pretty reasonable to me, and still leave enough "fantasy" in the market so that pondering whether to buy or sell is no easy choice.

especially bot leagues, will give you a very high reward for your draft pick for a low price. Yes it might be that so bot pick the potential best pick before, but the chanche is much higher that human do this while you still could get quite good second round picks there. And the good thing is, there are quite few teams to regulate the market, and target a fair price for the pick.(or with your fixed prices, because a bot league 13 pick could be worth like a normal league 2 or 3)

The low pick is not only good for the buyer, it would be equally good for the seller, so he´d probably think twice before selling it for a mere 250 k.
