When your looking to choose your offense you should be looking at the opposition defense. Your trying to choose an offense based on the opposition offense which doesn't make much sense.

no offensiv tactic is relevant to your succes, but your offense had to fit to the opposing defense.

While your defence had to stop the opposing offense, and get the rebound. Stopping run and gun attacks is 1-3-1 the best, but you have trouble to secure the ball so often 3-2 or man to man are better ... But this decision also depends on your and your opponents roster.

e.g. if you see, that your rival plays 2-3 zone all the time, and his outside ratings are worse, you should use an offense like run and gun or motion.

Before every match, try to analyze your opponent, where does he have better players, check his previous games and ratings etc.

Check this.

My opponent had better inside offense than outside o. You can counter this with either 2-3 zone or man-to-man defense (if you have good PF's and C's)

If he had better guards and played outside offense all the time, I'd use a 3-2 zone.

Also since it the beginning of the season the salary of the roster is not to far off. Their best players have high salary and can be stop by great defense. If their balance and you have no doubt your going to lost "Take It Easy" and blow the game. It set you up for your next game.
