Yeah, I believed it would just be a function of the # of minutes + randomness

my trainees always get 48 minutes and stay at strong/proficient GS. However, i would narrow the range down to 45-65 minutes per week. Just my opinion

He might have trained GS maybe? Also a trainer with fitness prevents a drop of too much GS if they play too many minutes.

Actually it's a doctor with massage ability who reduces the bad effects of too many minutes on GS.

A fitness trainer reduces stamina loss on your players.

Lets say Player 1 and Player 2 have the same skills, GS, etc, but have different stamina levels:

Both players get 60 minutes in the week:

Player 1 plays 48 minutes in one game with low stamina which makes him have a bad performance.

Player 2 plays 30 minutes in 2 games with strong stamina with a good performance.

I have noticed that player 1 will not have a great increase in GS even though he has played 60 mins. Player 2's GS/DMI would be higher. I think somehow the player's performance is slightly linked to GS. I could be completely wrong, but its just my theory.

Is that on a consistent basis? Just the 1 player from a team is hardly any proof given there is a randomness factor involved.

I had a player that got 60-65 min 4 weeks in a row and he stayed at respectable GS through all weeks so players not going up in GS when getting perfect minutes does happen

My sometimes starter sometimes backup PG Kent really had a bad season for GS last season.

Kent Masters respectable 53 res 66 res 50 res 54 str 2 (injured) ave 0 med 48 ave 82 res 68 res 69 res 86 str 85 pro 0

So for the entire season he had 0 minutes at proficient and 2 minutes until the final week at strong. Very odd that his GS only actually got good after the weeks when he played 86 then 85 minutes whereas 53, 66 and 50 left him still on respectable. This seems to defy all normal logic.

This doesn't defy normal logic at all but is an indicator of what I suspected is correct in that GS is looked at over the average of several weeks . Sure there are some randomness involved but the average minutes over say 4 weeks is more important than the exact minutes he played last week.

I remember reading many seasons ago when I was new someone stating it as a "fact" that gs was calculated on the previous two weeks, but I don't know how reliable that "fact" was.

60-70 is the sweet spot! Above 72 is mighty risky.

Also... I have noticed that if the minutes are split between 3 games, it has a slightly better effect on GS.

Say both players play 65 minutes, but player A does it in 3 games vs player B in 2. Both are in the sweet spot, but A seems to have a slightly better chance at improving from 8 to 9 GS. (just casual observations without hard data) A might be 60% while B is 50%.
