That's why they call it deliberately meaningless index.

Well, as long as you know what goes into it, and what doesn't, then it can be useful.

Until someone, someday finds a 32 year old with a down arrow in something besides stamina I will not believe it. Search 33 year olds for five minutes on the TL and you'll find a down arrow, 32 year olds, not going to happen.

I have a 32 year old guy who has dropped his DMI @ 9 GS by rate faster than younger teammates and faster than younger players with comparable salaries. It makes me think that small decreases in skills might start around 32, but that most often they aren't visible until 33. Likely the speed of skill drops increases with age (similar to the case where training speeds increase as guys get younger).

also lot of 33 year old don't drop in skills, but some are loosing 3 in a week which speaks against a slow increasing skill loss. I am with you when you say that the chanches for those massiv drops raises in age, but that they are so slow that they are unnoticed i don't believe with such drastic down with 33.

I know the first thing I'm gonna do if my 32 year old has a skill drop is to list him right away!

Believe whatever you want. I told you why I believe skill drops might start happening at 32. Now, is the slightly larger loss of DMI @ 9 GS I saw on my guy really from skill drops? Honestly I'm not sure, but I don't think it's just the typical loss of stamina that every player undergoes. And regardless of whether skills do start dropping, it's a small amount of decline, and thus I wouldn't suggest altering one's approach to 32 year old players. They can be inexpensive but still very useful players in their 32nd year, but realize that their TL value drops a good amount when they get to 33.

Well said. Currently having three starters age 33 and its not exactly panning out for me... so far ive had 5 skill drops between them, and the season is only half way done. Sell at 32 latest seems to be wise, or ride em out til the end (Celtics style)

Might also add that I think skill drops at 33 is a bit too early, if you look at real basketball. Players peak alot later than in other similar team sports such as football for example.
