I remember seeing that thread a while ago but don't have supporter so I didn't want to scroll through tons of pages to find it.

I read a little bit on CrazyEyes post and was wondering if you've ever tried a blank lineup and "Let Coach Decide" tactic before?

You still forgot to mention what you would do.

TV Game is apart of the list because I don't want a loss in attendance.

You're not going to have a loss in attendance. The playoff game will pretty much sell out regardless unless the arena prices are ridiculous in the extreme. The effect of the "lost last TV game" thing is really only a concern for your remaining regular season home games, but since the season will be over and that resets in the offseason, I wouldn't make that a factor in my decision making. If it were the first game of the season, on the other hand, and your second TV game was the last game of interleague play, obviously that would be an entirely different consideration.

I didn't answer the other part of the discussion because I haven't looked at your team or his at all. Generally, I'd prefer the TIE and maintaining enthusiasm at the maximum possible level. In an almost identical scenario last season (a 1 v 2 match, on the road, TV game) I went with a TIE and pulled out a close win in a game that absolutely was a 50-50 game (neither of us ever led by more than 5). I think a normal would have been a better choice in retrospect, but it worked out.

I think more than anything, you need to figure out this in a three-game strategy. Do you think you have any chance at all against the #1? If not, you might as well normal and POCT to at least ensure you get that far. If you think you have a good chance at making the finals, you might TIE and then if that works maybe even try a Playoff Normal to put you in the best shape for the matchup against #1.

I tried it for 4 games and, perhaps coincidentally, lost 3 of them. That aside, I thought it worked ok and more or less as I would have done. the minutes were also pretty well distributed. It didn't seem to look much at the opponent's strengths and weaknesses.

Don't do "Let Coach Decide" with the Backup/Reserves blank. That has the starters for 3 quarters and the subs for the last quarter.

See I always go with "Strictly Follow Depth Chart" and somehow always end up in garbage time at the end of the 3rd / start of the 4th (Playing all my backups). Which usually screws me over in training minutes for my 3rd trainee. Is there something I can do different?

Well it's really tough to decide. I KNOW I can beat the #1 guy in my conference, just haven't under the right circumstances. Game 1 against him wasn't fair at all since it was the first game of the season so I TIE'd him (Lost by 20). Game 2 I lost by 1 with 4 seconds left on the clock to make a shot but missed (Had high Enthusiasm 8-9 and played Normal). So if I make it to the finals I can CT him and win since he stays at 5 enthusiasm the entire season.

The big problem though is my last game is against the Purple Chihuahuas who will have max Enthusiasm just like me who I've beaten once this season but with CT. He also just acquired a new 10K SF that may be a problem for my 11K SF. I don't know what he'll do in the last league game and then in the PO's. He may just TIE and then CT me so he has a chance to advance.

I'm thinking I'll do a TIE, Normal and then CT come the #1 matchup. Or at least that's what I'm edging towards..

Thanks for the examples. Do you think you could shoot me a BB-Mail so I could use your Arena structure as a guide? I'd really appreciate it.

If you know the first playoff game will be against this same team and you know the second will be against a team that will be stuck on 5 enthusiasm, I might go so far as do a normal, then POCT the opener (which is treated like a CT for game purposes but like a normal for enthusiasm). I suppose it depends on how you'd do if you made the finals too - because after essentially three normals, your enthusiasm would be beat up - although if you could do a PON against the #1 seed in the conference final and win, that would help.

It sounds like a lot of decisions to make, though. I think home court might be worth losing a little enthusiasm, in this case.

I really think I'm leaning towards TIE last league game to keep the Enthusiasm up and I just might CT my first playoff game. That'll depend on what he does in the last league game though. Then I'll PON the #1 seed like you said to salvage some Enthusiasm for the Finals. Which I can beat any of the teams that actually make it from that conference.

Thanks for the brainstorming hrudey.

So far I won the last league game playing TIE while he went Normal. So I'm at 12 Enthusiasm which'll be at 11 come PO game time. Since he'll probably CT with 9-10 Enthusiasm I think I'll have to go CT as well. Thoughts?
