Thanks for your advice and informations. I'm not 100% sure, but my wife said once this is kind of a package of AU/local provider for TV and stuff. As my Japanese is still worse (and in Japan there is no other language than Japanese :0), she's doing all of the stuff for us. As a swiss I get used to overpriced provider services, but it's even more expensive than in my country.

I don't switch things so quickly and don't watch TV or movies mostly at all here in Japan, I'm a bad consumer. Living near the ocean and plain nature creates some nice alternative programs. Besides, I'm into bass guitar, that's my babe/wife/girlfriend and she must be played as often as possible ;). Our AU contract just run out some weeks ago and is now as usual automatically extended. I thought we could save a bit of cash, as we keep using the smartphones which are paid off with the ending of the 2 years contract. Well, in fact our contract became around 500 Yen more expensive since the tools belongs to us. How do you said? Industry of slimebags... I totally agree.

Thanks again for the advice and... Revolution? Count me in. Cheers...

All phone companies will auto-extend you, if you don't go in and stop them within that period. Last time with Softbank, I missed by less than a day (it was something like 5 hours), but I caused a small ruckus, and asked to speak to the manager - who after a few minutes allowed that it would be unfair to make me renew. We left, and went to AU.
I'm pretty sure of one thing with regards to mobile phone companies here in Japan: they're ALL crooks.

Phone companies here are marginally above crooks. Even then, I think I'm giving them a little too much credit.

A little bit? Okay, there are some great things here in Japan. But I often feel like riding on a time machine. And that's back in time :0...

PS: I'm not against RETRO, I love old stuff and ways. But insist on it, because it was like this already since forever, it's a bit... Hmmm, Japanese...
