There were some games of the german NT against teams with high salary bigs (210k+). These bigs all have IS 19+. My defender could hinder them. They took less shots and the FG % dropped from over 50% to around 25%. But they still managed to find open shots and could score.
And to correct trainerman: there are four defense skills - OD, ID, SB and Stamina. Without stamina your other three will be destroyed faster than you can see it.

With the training system as it is, we will always have to field a flawed team, the "complete" player can't be built, unless you are playing in a low division where an all-around "10" is more than sufficient to bully the other players. Maybe it's just because we still have not figured out how tactics really work - maybe we never will, because the formulas and variable are just too difficult to figure out.

In comparison the the real world: you won't be able to find the complete package there either. The top guys are all weak in some aspect of the game, so building a team to cater the strenghts of those players seems logic. Some teams will forever be chucking threes, other will try to outrun the competition and other will have their own bag of tricks.

If I was you, I really would not care about the B3/NT competition, where LI might still be a problem. I run almost every tactic and most of the time I am happy with the result.

Absolutely not. I am pretty sure, that with the right builds there would be a few tactics that would end LI dominance pretty fast, but unfortunately it's not possible to get the roster to do that. Mainly because you wont find the players on the market and training them on your own would take too long.

I am pretty sure you could build a team using Pressing defense that would absolutely kill everyone on defense. Won't be able to prove though as you won't find the bigs for it.
