Okay then. I agree with the veto.

Yes naturalisation would be very simple: 18yo needs to be trained continuously for for at least for 41 weeks as 21yo season starts (must be bought in draft week and kept); 19yo 28 weeks (i.e. must be bought right after the draft).

The home nation has calling priority over the training nation. Eligible players can be called by either until a selection is made. The home nation can override the training nation in the first week. After that whoever calls up the player first will get the right to use him until the following season.

Still doesn't solve the problem of countries with no managers.

Yes the 'veto' as you call it would be enforceable in the first week essentially. You can't have the home nation taking someone the training nation has already selected after that, it wouldn't be fair

Look at it this way: if a player is truly exceptional the home nation will get him, if he's second or third tier the home nation will still have the chance of selecting him, however they will need to do it in the first week or just before the training nation does after that (if neither have called him up).

The starters get called up right away. The backups and situational players get called during the season because the Coach likes the flexibility to pick from a larger pool.

I think the requirements may be as stringent as you like. 3 seasons uninterrupted for U21 (i.e. fully trained by the training team) and, I don't know 6 seasons for NT? I can't imagine many players will satisfy these criteria except the ones trained for most of their career by the same team.

My Chinese C might have been a solid backup NT player for a medium nation, but he was never selected for China (understandably)

What if the manager who drafts the players could choose a second nationality of his utopian draftees?

Then you could apply a rule which says that countries with a lot of active users are only allowed to have 1 of those players in their NT squad, smaller one's can have 2 or even 3.

It would be up to the manager: if he wants his player to be in any NT, he chooses a 'small' country. If he just wants f.e. an American player, he can choose the USA as the secondary nationality, but the chances of his player getting to the NT are very small.

Just an idea that came to my mind...

Some managers might be patriotic enough to choose their nationality, don't you think?

I think weighting the randomness (is that still random) towards the smallest nations would be an even better idea.

I totally agree with the idea of assigning a casual nationality to the utopian players ...
The best advantage would be to use the nation's weighted randomness, so that each nation will have the opportunity to have a higher number of workable and convivial prospects in the national team.

In any case, however, ONLY in terms of merchandising such players would still retain the utopian nationality.

Since there is no utopian national team, through this system the utopian players would also gain value.

In conclusion, weighted or total randomness would make the whole utopian world even more interesting.

I agree. The Utopia feature will be given a whole new world. Many users will be interested in subscribing to it in return.
