hi coach

The following profiles are a target span of what we look for in NT
It doesn't mean that a player is called up just because he reaches these values, it depends on competition etc... and on how the game evolves
Furthermore, it should be considered that these are "basic" profiles. There are many variations, for example, if one wanted a more specialist external player, one could sacrifice a bit of IS to have more JR, or focus on more defensive profiles etc...

P & G
JS 22+, JR 12
OD 21+, HA 21+
DR 22+, PA 11+
IS 21+, ID x
RB x, BL x

SF
JS 18+, JR 10+
OD 21+, HA 20+
DR 20+, PA 12+
IS 20+, ID 20+
RB x, BL x

CLASSIC C
JS 14-, JR x
OD 17+, HA 19+
DR 19+, PA 14+
IS 18+, ID 19+
RB 14+, BL 8+

To be noted: focus on minimaze JS pops which have a huge impact on CAP without having a real benefit

STOPPER
JS x, JR x
OD 17+, HA 14+
DR x, PA 16+
IS 7-, ID 20+
RB 17+, BL 20+

To be noted: focus on minimaze IS pops in order to let ID, SB and RB grow as much as possible

Coaching a national team level player requires investment and consistency. Here's what you need:

Youth coach (mandatory for 18/19 year olds) – Low cost, salary approximately 20k/week
Level 6 or higher recommended. (best time to take it: the two to three weeks following ASG)

It is also advisable or useful to have:

Gym level 3 – Cost 1M + 15k/week maintenance

Training camp level 1/3 – Cost 500k/1M + 5/15k per week
(it is used to train free throws, otherwise never trained)

For those who want all the precautions:

Doctor level 4 or higher – Low cost (even under 100k), maintenance 8–15k/week
Injuries at 18–20 years old are very dangerous: even just 3-4 weeks off means 20% of a key season

Nutritionist level 4 or higher – Low cost, maintenance 8–15k/week
Saves time on future resistance training. If the kid starts out with low stamina, it may not help

Hey Bryce!

I like the idea with the Super Stopper, it could add a new tactical dimension although it's yet to be seen how often they would be playing indeed. Might also need a manager or two that specializes in building those players as opposed to the regular smaller NT shot blockers who also have OD.

Just a question - are the builds you mentioned in any relation to potential? Because there's the thing that some players can get a worse RNG roll with potential and for example one HoF (pot 10) player can get "stuck" in training a little earlier than another. For example the SF build above equals to 161 TSP, which is obviously very much possible but sometimes there may be a delay in training for various reasons

I think your skills requirements for NT players are impossible to achieve. It looks very nice, but we should be more realistic. We have quite experienced managers, but no one of them were capable to train player like you describe.

We had few players with TSP 160+ but no one of them were close to you skill requirements. I mean especially PG/SG and SF players, that you mentioned. Our best SF had TSP 166, but he was far away from OD 22, IS 21 and ID 19. Same we can say about the guards. Our best guard in the past had OD 21 and IS 21 and you talk about guard with OD at least 22 and IS also at least 22.

I train a long time Czech players for our NT, so I know what I'm talking about. So we can dreaming about players like you describe, but reality is miles away.

For guards I don't agree with you, it's possible we just didn't have these goals wtih our last generation.
For SF I saw JS 22 little bit problematic it means this player would be guard with good rebound for guard but in my opinion bad for SF. But I think it's ok if he says for some tactics I will use guard with rebounds as SF.

Just to explain little bit the strategy some during my period od last 18 seasons as NT coach.
We prefered to have training under control so almost all of our NT's have been training in czech clubs or our utopia clubs. As we are at BB small nation (now 134 active teams) we decided to train just some years of players. We have quite a lot of managers that are able to train well with trainer 7, youth trainer 6-7, gym 3. Quite a lot for train players from 5 or 6 drafts in o row, not enough to train best players from any draft. But the goal was to join at the same moment all the well train players by our best managers.
