It is. Bad passing leads to way more turnovers than bad handling.

Atleast thats my observation.

I would love to hear from the experiance of managers who participated in a draft or two.

A. Is te letters' grading system accurate? Does the grade after two observations (A+ / A-/ C+. etc.) reflects accurately the abilities of the player?

B. How reliable is the star ranking for grading the plaers? Should the letters grading be treated as a fine-tuning process, (to distinguish the A+ from the A- ), or should the ranking without the letters be considered as more plausible to be wrong? And if so - from your experience - how much more?

C. How accurate is the potential projection? Can a player with 2 stars for potential prove eventually to be a superstar potential, or vice versa?

To sum it up - What information can I safely rely on, if at all?

Here are three issues I think a lot of people complain about when the results come out (despite the ratings being reasonably accurate).

1. Player is 19 yo.
2. Player may have X star skills and Y stars potential, but he has a bad configuration.
3. Player missing a necessary skill.

As for (1), you might consider rating 18 yo in front of unknowns.

For (2), I'm not sure what the answer is. A couple seasons ago I drafted a PF with good inside skills and potential, but he was 6' 3". He was a decent SF for me for a limited time and I sold him for a decent sum, but was never a high-value trainee because of his height.

(3) You draft a 7' 1" Center with Inside Shot, Rebounding and Shot Blocking but atrocious or pitiful Inside Defense. Kind of kills his market value, as most people aren't going to put the effort in to raise his Defense to something worthwhile.

Well, this is very helpful. It is always good to know what to expect.

I heard yhat people are always kind of disappointed by the results of the draft, and I start to figure out why it could happen.

My tentative conclusions are:
1. A team should not expect a dramatical upgrade via the draft, if I understand correctly, since such an upgrade is rare.
2. Spending 40 000 every weak on scouting was probably a mistake, because I have only a slight chance to get the investment money back.

Investing a lot in scouting is like buying a lottery ticket. The main thing it provides you is hopes

: )

Thank you Steve

Have a good draft
