a few managers deliberately tried to lose game 2

I would say that's why the attendance drop happens for Game 3.

Puh-leeze... no-one but you is going to drink the koolaid on this one. The fan survey is clearly not operating sensibly in this case. Hopefully a three-game finals scenario is added to whatever test suite the fan survey algorithm is tested against.

I'm commenting on the attendance, not the Fan Survey.

I think there can't be an algorhytm to decide whether the owner is smart or dumb if the result is the same.

In additon nobodfy prevents you from tanking Game 1 instead (smart or dumb dilema again:) )

uhm... why everybody keeps responding like that? I DIDN'T TANK ANY PLAYOFF GAME
i LOST game#2
it was an even matchup, i played normal just to have enthusiasm 8 instead of 6 when playing game#3 at home

CT, TIE and normal is different in playoffs, attendance is different in playoffs, i think the "losing a game" effect could also be changed to be different for game#3 of the playoffs finals

can you imagine fans staying at home in game#7 of the NBA finals just because their team lost game#6? come on...

Exactly. There is absolutely no reason why Game 3 of the finals should not be the most attended game of the season. Losing 2000 fans because of a Game 2 loss defies any reasonable logic.

There is a reason - as it was mentioned. Having a longer series shouldn't be much better than win in 2 games. Exstra game is extra profit. No matter if you try to lose or it just happens.

I should add that I'm not advocating anything in this case. I just think that there is a reason. If the benefit from an extra game is such a big deal I can't tell.

For the record, I was hoping to win my Game 2. (I lost in the last minute by a lousy, stinkin' point, ruined a perfect season...)

I think the point isn't about how we'd like to make just that much more money in a Game 3. The point is that we want this game to look and fell (and smell) as real as possible, so when something smells funny, it takes away from the game, and people like me make suggestions to help make the game better (and more real).

Maybe there's a way to sniff out the tankers (i.e. a lineup with 6'-0" centers and 6'-10" point guards, or a lineup with a average salary $4,000 less than the rest of the team, etc.), and that could trigger a penalty like giving away the Game 3 ticket sales to a lesser team (or my team!) as a penalty. But that's less important to me at the moment than helping the excellent developers do an even excellenter job, and for the sake of this thread, that means making sure a Game 3 attendance is the biggest attendance of the season, which I think most of us agree would make the most sense and be the most realistic.

Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!

I lost game 2 of the finals and sold out my arena for the tie breaker, which I won. My final fan survey had 4 balls for how the team performed this season.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Well, that's a good suggestion except that during the regular season the arena is rarely over 75% full. Still, just this afternoon I added a few of the upper end seats.

i think its a brain twister, imagine

game one on your home court , attendance is high and you won
game 2 ( for the sake of getting real, lets say managers do want to lose it for another home game )

game 3 attendance having hca, no matter what you say its a home court crowd on a last do or die game wouldnt they support it? how can attendance significantly . . .

imagine the blazers and the bulls championship the bulls clearly gave the game to the blazers on game 5 in portland even though they can win it, if you wer able to watch the game you would say how on earth did pippen and jordan paly in that manner.

but in game 6 its a full house in chicago!

Can something be done on the "I know our starplayers and aren't afraid they will be sold" rating? Can it be explained, or can there at least be a indication of which players are your starplayers according to the fans? This because i'm getting low ratings at this while I haven't put one of my 4 best players on the list. I don't think it makes al lot of sense now..
