When your C or PF gets a rebound and then has it immediately stolen you get a good indication of how handling is important.

Also , i think handling reduces your turnovers, and you also will have more steals.

How would you rate LeBron James' handling?

Exactly.

His handling enables him to create better shots.

Here is a more personal example:

I still play in a rec league and my handling sucks. I spot up and wait for a pass, or I'll get garbage points from rebounds. If my handling was better, I'd create more shots and therefore take more shots.

Aha, yes.

But, if a player is fouled and still gets a shot off, wouldn't that be his handling skill? Along with his hidden physicality?

I thought of it as driving gets you an open look and handling finishes the open look.
