I want to thank you for doing a good job in advicing new players like myself on how to run things. I support your candidacy for coach and recognice the hard work you have put into this. But I have to say that i also support Pistoleros view that you should check for talent in lower conferences.

I dont know if their are is someone else to coach the cyprus national team but what I do know is that the national coach is supposed to check several games of atleast the first teams in all divisions and search of new talents.

and who told you this hasn't been done?
the reality is that all this players you may think are so strong, maybe aren't enough for a NT... but they need training to reach actual players level..

Steve Makis search weekly all active divisions too avoid bot young talents to go waisted, he freed many talents that are making this national teams (both u21 and NT) very competitive...

i can't imagine where you proved Steve to miss this job...

It is not an easy job if you wish to become a national coach. It needs a lot of effort to find the right talents that will make the team better and to scout on the opponents game play, strenghts and weakness.

this is right... and nobody, and I ensure you nobody, could have accomplished this better than steve... he spend nights and days working for cyprus, the proofs are on the forums, I don't recall you discussing about nt's games or players almost anywhere... coming here just to be harsh without any reason is not something that could improve any discussion

I am dissapointed with our performance in the national tournament.

well you shouldn't we lost for steve fault, i'd say never, but I'll say only against shiqperia, other matches couldn't be won...
but this had happened for one reason: the best players of cyprus are still 21 years old and they played for the u21, who had very great results indeed... nobody can say it hadn't... from net season the national team will count on kaikas, florakis, pitsikokos and other players who always played at the same level against players of strong teams like germany or portugal.... and resultuts will come with time...
in two season steve makis' job made it possible to have a strong u21 and on the long period a strong national team... it wasn't impossible to have both in only two seasons....

I believe we can do much better. If someone decided to be the national coach he better take his role seriously for the benefit of the nation.

this must be a joke... it can't be taken as a serious issue

The truth is I am disappointed from our coach. I am sorry if I am a bit harsh.

anyone has right to his opinions, i respect yours but i'd suggest you to prove them a little better next time...

Well my dear friend is the 1st time that i saw u posting something on this forum. Steve me and U21 coach we are the only persons that we actually login to the game daily. Steve is not alone. Heck TheCippis wanted a Cypriot big man to train and from my daily search for the Cypriots bought a player b4 2 days. Me also at the beginning of the season i bought a player that i didn't need just couz i saw potential to him for the NT. You cant count how many hours our 3 we spend on msn talking about the game and especially the NT. I am 30 y/o old father with 4 months child, and still we tried to contact with any young manager that have my half age and cant speak English, offering them help, add them on our msn. Spend time that we DON'T have just to help the community.

Don't forget that those are coming for the U21 candidate that lost the elections by 1 vote, so easily i could put my name on the elections and i am sure that i would have a very good chance to elect.

Edit: Just remember that Rome wasnt built on 1 day...

So please b4 u open u r mouth and say what ever you have in your mind, check 1st what those 2 managers have done.

I am sorry for my offensive react, but you ask for it. Nothing personal. Me Steve, and TheCippis we be here for anyone. We cant guess what you need, so ask it!. If you cant speak English i will translate.

Well... I personally thank you every one who support me, my italian friend The Cippis and Osnofa from Portugal that is doing a great job with Kraidis (we expect 2 levels on rebounding as soon as possible, but he will be part of next u21, I suppose, don't you The Cippis?).

I thank moti123, JohnnyB, CruelLord, I love you Harry Kewell !, Ekleptysmenos for your support, but even I thank Pistoleros for criticize me... it's always a good thing when this give me the opportunity of speak about National Cyprus Team.

We speak about players of II or III... well... in my data base I have 155 players, 125 under 21. 51 of this 155 are playing on II division here in Cyprus, so 33% of scouted players are on team of II, many others are on foreign countries. Many good players are in Spain, Italy, Deutschland or what else and they grow very well, but other prospects, like Atmatzidis, Papanogiotou, Gagalatos, Feloukas, Lavdas, Ritsos, Kalpadakis, Prokas, Yiannakakos and many others that are and will be on u21 and maybe Senior National Team.

I monitor every player according with The Cippis and his manager every week and when users update me I will update the database.
I personally made only 1 big mistake: play TIE against Shqiperia. Other mistakes are objectionable.

For example I know that you have 2 interesting 19 y.o. players, but at the moment they are not at the level of many others. At the end of this season I will check every cypriot player thanks to a program that an italian user MOD-Sedobrengocce send me and create for "finding players" all over the world, so I can monitor everyone and everywhere and if they are improved (I think that Kostas Arachovitis is improved a lot) you will receive my weekly mail with updating.

I speak on national forum, I speak on division forum, I speak by PM. Someone answer me and I'm pleased about that... I'm moving something...

I don't want to be loved neither hated, I only wanna know if someone wanna reward my "work" giving to me a second chance... Cyprus National Team is property of Cyprus and I will surely leave after next mandate if someone will vote for me again. I think that some cypriot user could "walk alone" on the road of National Team.

JohnnyB for sure, but I love you Harry Kewell ! too (first national coach!), if he wants, Ekleptysmenos o moti123 could try as well, they are doing an excellent work... may be experienced as atimos or Jason1983, could be TassosC that is winning his conference, why not balkaneca that is a lovely surprise on this tournament or Andreas or pathos or... many others could manage NT.

I thanks for your critics, but I think that you don't really know what is my
engagement on this National Team.

I hope to have better results with a better team next season if I will be re-elected.

As i said b4 1 more win doesnt make the difference. Your most important accomplishment is that you get involve the community, and you have teach lots of us how to train. You didnt have so many good players to help you. The best players of Cyprus are playing for the U21 NT. This year with Kaikas will be much stronger. I will put some numbers to show how much better we will be next season

Transfer price for Ritsos (part of NT PF/C) 1.650.000
Transfer price for Kourmentalas (part of NT PF/C) 900.000
Transfer price for Kaikas (new member of NT PF/C) $ 2 826 900

2 NT players combined have less value than an x-part of u21 and current member of senior NT

----------------------------------
just 2 marks:
Kraidis (we expect 2 levels on rebounding as soon as possible, but he will be part of next u21, I suppose, don't you The Cippis?).

he already is a member since last monday

thanks to a program that an italian user MOD-Sedobrengocce send me and create for "finding players" all over the world

I WANT this program!!! even if it is enough that one nt manager uses it

Hello everybody!

I am nowadays more or less closely following the discussions in the Cyprus Forums, because I have a player in the U21. When I bought him he was not, so I checked the Forum in order to get some understanding.

I have learned since then that Steve_Makis (and later on Thecippis) have invested enormous amounts of time and commitment to serve the Cyprus Community. What I can also judge well is how Coaches of NT-candidates (like me...) are treated and advised. And that is more or less perfectly!

I have experience training players for the NT/U21 in other countries. And I can tell that so far I haven't yet met so much professionalism and enthusiasm as I did in Cyprus and its NT-team(s).

Steve_Makis at the beginning often posted Cyprus players that were for sale in order to get good trainers for them. In order to be able to do so one can assume how much research and online time he invests. He didn't stop to do so for a while even though there never was much response. He has not only posted here but also posted in many division threads in order to get some movement in the community.

I am an average player so I wouldn't dare judge on his strategy but from what I can see he isn't doing too bad. But when judging him his tremendous efforts and beginning results in building a community around the NT should be at forehand.

Disclaimer: I do not know him - we are no friends - I have no side-communication with him - I am not a member of the NT/U21 team - etc...

P.S.: maybe sometimes he sounds a bit arrogant when offering advice...
