That kind of arrangement doesn't seem fair:
1) there is no chance to get injured
2) management of player minutes is very simple math without any random factors
I do not understand motivation for team to forfeit games like that on purpose, but I can guess now based on your "description/generalization of Srbija people nature" ;)
You can easily check that my opponents also "gave up" so there was no question of winner in my games either. However there was a risk to get injured.
