While he'll need some sometime I wouldn't advise doing it yet. I'd start by getting his passing up to a reasonable level before moving to his inside skills for the rest of the season. You might be able to get them all up by the end of the season, but I'm not sure. That way you'll save a little bit of money and avoid that awkward phase of playing a 100k+ SG at C for a season;).

Great news!

one tip: when playing bots or scrimmages running a 3-2 zone will decrease the chances of your your SF from fouling out. Training some inside D would also help. As I told fluff, you are going to want to end up with an Inside D of around 10. So, it would be good to crack on with that before he becomes a true guard.

ah, really? it's been sometime i was trying to find a remedy for this. Thanks :)

as for ID=10, not sure whether i can reach that high, as his skills are more on a SG. Perhaps 1-2 pop per season if i have some spare weeks.

Currently i'm training him at 1on1 at forward, as it's the fastest way to increase his ha/drv skill and maybe some bonus pop at IS.

you will get 1-2 pop-ups in ID while training OD for sure(would love to say 2-3, but have no recent experience in od training ), and for IS the best would be 1vs1 forwards training as it trains IS and you will get 2-4 pop-ups while training it

I`m the nicest person you will know:)

i agree with replublikanis. the first IS pop with 1 on 1 for forwards will come quickly (as most players start with a sublevel) after that it depends on age. Ive been waiting for my 2nd for ages.

Also ID should go up gradually (every 8 trainings ish?) of OD. again first pop may be quicker with partials. but you will need dedicated training at C. I would imagine it would take 3-4 weeks per pop at 18 years of age, but others may have personal experience/seen evidence on the forums.

i know raising his inside skills up towards 10 is daunting now, but it will really set him apart at domestic level and even NT level should he make it all the way there. im wrestling with the same quandaries as you are and will, but if you can make it happen it will be worth it.
also these skills will add little or nothing to his weekly salary but will make a big difference on court alongside his guard skills.

ive seen a few exciting guards today and recommended that they all plan to look at the inside skills at some point

When Fluff asked a similar question about the value of inside skills for guards, I showed him the following player from the Brazil NT. He is the type of guard we need on the England NT. I realised that I value JR, Inside shot, and Inside D more than others, but he is just about the perfect guard in my view (obviously, his OD could be a bit higher, but not much for MVP potential).

this guy is truly awesome, but I do wonder whether he would be better as an inside focused guard with less jr and more js and dr. for an outside offense guard I could stomach that jr but then the IS above 7 or 8 doesnt seem as valuable. Instead spend that training time ID, or guard skills sticking to 160 salary

That is a good point. I might exchange some JR for some OD and some more Inside shot -->12?

The one thing he's got going for looking inside is that high driving.

i would prefer something like that or maybe even higher driving with IS at 10/11 still.

i read a while ago a debate about IS vs DR on performance in games. i got the impression DR is a lot more valuable for guards than IS (obvious!) but i also didnt get the impression that performance massively increased with the extra IS as well.
However, i think there would be some cases where the IS would really help a guard, particularly a SG, and certainly at NT level having a set of players with a range of skills at your disposal is essential.
Plus there may be situations where a guard with good IS/ID might be a back up for SF so giving more flexibility to the team.

I agree. But that guard also had high jr. for a LI sg id value more dr and js, and if possible more is. But his is, level is good in my opinion already

Not sure if right thread, but I guess. So, Im training my player in a route which is like: IS, ID, IS, RB, ID, IS, RB, ID, IS, RB, IS, ID, IS, RB, ID. Something like that. I will train inside levels only this season.

Talking about this season trainings, pops come really haaaaaaaardly, for Michael O'Connell, I don't remember how many trainings I gave, but it is about 5 and only 2 pop ups, of course its normal at his height, but he is young and he is trained ON C POSITION WITH 6lvl trainer...
