I have 3 subpar draftees. Probably couldn't even sell them. Normally I'd just jettison them. But I'm wondering, if I keep them , being that they're all from my country, players I drafted, will that help boost ticket sales? I don't have many original draftees, and I thought I read once that the more players you have that are from your own country and also if I originally drafted them that it would help with ticket sales. Combined salaries for the three is about $7500 a week though. Maybe more then I would earn in extra ticket sales though. But I'm not sure if its even true? Thanks!

I heard it won't work if they're bit part players. They have to have high salaries to earn enough merch for you.

To put things into perspective, I have a full home grown team with 250k team salary and a 150k star player, and I earn 40k in homegrown & locals. That's from a fully home grown team. I don't think you'd earn much with three players averaging 2.5k salary each

The local and homegrown bonuses are based on the % of your team's salary are from those local or homegrown players.

So $7500 salary homegrowns on a $75000 team salary would have moderate impact (estimates I saw in a forum thread last season were that 10% local -> 10% of your "team merchandise" and that homegrown was higher than that). But $7500 salary homegrown on a $300000 team salary would be negligible.

How does that work? Do you still have a link to the thread?

These were my numbers by the last economic update: 550k in salaries, 130k in merch and of that 130k, 40k is from home grown & locals. I have 1 local (6.67%) with 290k salary, and the rest were home grown with 1 guy earning 130k. I still don't see how 10% local can equate to 10% of team merch when I get 30% for 93.33% home grown.

Sorry, I don't remember the exact thread and I didn't save a link.

But I read it as a bonus of your Team Sales merch amount (which is the base merchandise value and is determined by league level and your positional standing within the league), not as a percentage of your total merch. For example, my breakdown is:

Team Sales $ 14 974
Player Jersey Sales $ 582
Homegrown & Locals $ 11 128
Arena Sponsorships $ 0
Merchandise Store $ 0

And I had about 40% of my team salary as USA players (35% of salary as homegrowns) as of that snapshot.

So on yours, I'm assuming you have about 40k in team sales, 40k in HG & Locals, and the other 30k comes from player jersey sales / arena sponsorships (the payback from the arena design upgrade) / merchandise store
