Apologies; I have some personal issues with GLB higher-ups, and seeing it brought up when suggesting changes to a game I actually like causes me to react negatively.

I don't think BB wants users to spam referral links, though, and dangling free Supporter would cause this to happen. There is already an option to refer a friend to BB.

As far as the forums go, I do agree that the BB forum layout needs improvement, but honestly GLB forums are more of a community of users who joined during the period of actual growth in 2008, got to know each other, and hung around in the forums as the game collapsed around them. The forums grew more active after the game hit the skids, which is telling. GLB's forums helped it kill the game, too, after certain users who spent every second of every day kissing ass on the forums gained enough influence to pretty much have Bort do what they wanted him to do. You don't see favoritism in BB and I'd like it to remain that way.

In short, forum changes would need to be implemented very carefully, and GLB should NOT be used as the example.

Have you heard that "Take your talents to Soutbeach" is the new word for manual autoeroticism?

Hey Preston, what are you doing at 8 tonight?

Oh man,I've got a BB game against Darkyjozef, but I'll probably just take my talents to South Beach instead of watching.

I have to agree with you considering less than 1% of Americans are farmers and the number of people in prison far outweighs the number of farmers... yeah.

I honestly think that the waiting period when you register deters at least a small amount of people from actually playing the game, for the simple reason that they forget about it. That's just a very small amount though. I definitely agree that the European league style is something a lot of Americans don't understand or just don't like... a lot of people who are used to the "Win now" mentality and don't care if they're beating up on crappy teams will either be immediately be turned away from this game or quit once they promote and stop beating teams by 50.

In the end, I don't think anything should be changed about the structure of the game. It's a niche game in America and with some better promotion, the people who enjoy these games will find it. Referral links would definitely help, although I don't suggest rewarding players too heavily for referrals. Maybe 2-4 days of Supporter max.

I think putting people in D IV with managers who have earned promotion is a big mistake. Lets face it, depending on the D IV league they go in, they might just get beat by 50 every night because the starting teams have nothing on a team that was built successfully over a few seasons. Nothing is going to turn new users off quicker than losing game after game. Also depending on the time of the season a new user joins, their season might already be over, I remember when I first started my team was 2-8....and while im glad I just focused on learning for the next season, that was sort of a turn off to the game.

1) New players from the US are not treated equally to new players from small countries. We have to start in DV, they get a cakewalk to DI in a season or two. There other games out there where new teams are put in the same division, regardless of nationality. These games are attracting new users while BB is not.

2) The lack of statistics. BB has, at best, rudimentary statistics available. The lack of team defensive stats and player +/- stats is seen as a sign that the developers don't really know how to put a sim together.

3) The economy. Day trading is abhorred by players who want realism. However, the economy of BB almost forces you to trade to support your team. FOF/OOTP type of people want to build their team with draft picks by training and developing the right kind of players. You can't do this in BB because you don't see enough draft info to target the types of players you want to have. And I don't mean simply claiming the 'best' player, rather distinct player types.

4) The player development model that forces you to play out of position in order to get training in, for example, OD, ID or passing, is seen as a bad joke and a horrendous design decision.

5) The 'World of BB' is a reflection of soccer, not basketball.

6) Too much of BB smacks of Hattrick, as if the game had been lifted whole from that sim, had its soccer engine snipped out and a basketball game engine grafted on. I remember from my early days that this is close to literal truth, but no one speaks of this any more in the forum.

Ad1. I do not agree. BB it is hard game. That is why so attractive, even for players, who aren't basketball/ NBA fans ( like me ;) ) In Poland we saying : Easy come easy go.

Ad2. I agree with that. You are right in one hundred percent. I would add here: new kinds od stuff members, and add more things about describing player, for example: nature of player or charisma ( something like in rpg games )

Ad3. Economy, what can always be worse. I hope I will see some money for friendlies or/and cup matches.

Ad.4 I do not agree. Honestly, this for me one of the the biggest plus BB. The player development model that forces You to think and making uneasy decisions. Alwayes few steps ahead. If You want to have unique player, You have to be ready for hard and long road.

Ad.5 Maybe BB is reflection of soccer. I don't know;). But is not reflection of European football;).

ad6 Hard to say, never played but heared and I know less than more ;) that it is about football;)

Point 7. I would add more internet marketing work for BB stuff, because I remember that few years ago there was even big article in th Polish most popular sport newspaper. The author, a journalist was invited to play. Detailed is described. In the half year to 10 000 players in the HT, Poland had 20 000. Of course i know it was not only one reason. but...HT now works with one of the largest Polish Internet portals, link to them is next to the main page of sports news.

I know how people get bored with the game. I have known someone who tried to cheat because they have a really short attention span. Once they made a bad decision on bidding on a player who they didn't want they tried to cheat. Personally I really like this game and if it were so easy it would make me like it less. I love the strategy and the way the games seem real. If americans didn't give up so easily we would have a bigger amount of users
