Je ne nous voyais pas les battre sans PAM avec un niveau d'attitude inférieur. Jusqu'à la dernière seconde avant le match j'ai douté de ce choix. J'ai pris la mauvaise décision.

Today is time to make miracles.. Before the last game of world championship´s round robin game we are currently out of semifinal spot and that means we need to win and hope other results will help us to sneak in. Lets see:

Polland - Italy (Polland is 36pts ahead of us, Italy is out of competition and uses these game to try new unexplored things. That means, they play crazy rosters with crazy tactics and that is why they dont pose much of threat). Polland should have no problems to secure semifinal spot.

Serbia - China (Serbia is 6 pts ahead of us, China is certain semifinalist and will play TIE. Serbia will therefore have pretty good chance in beating them at higher enthusiasm). Question stands, how much effort will Serbians put into the game, if enough, they should win and qualiffy into semifinals.

Latvia - USA (Latvia is 34 pts behind us, USA is certain semifinalist and will play TIE. Latvians will play on higher enthusiasm and I believe they will put everything into the game what should secure them very good chance in winning and hoping at least one or two teams ahead of them will lose)

We need to win and hope we put two of these three teams down. Most likely, it is about Serbia, us and Latvia for 1 spot!

3 seconds to go Pinero killed us.. We were so close! What to say? Italians became my huge friends as they decided not to ruin Pollands chances by not even playing CT in their last game but TIE it. This is where details are important. As i have said, we had bad luck in draw. If we faced Argentina first and Latvia second we are qualified easy. Well you need luck to become champion as well. We didnt have. In this second phase of World cup we played against 3 NORMALS and 1 CT while our direct competition didnt. This was key.
Serbians played CT and are bronze as they will be smacked by China in semis. I didnt want to be bronze that is why I risked big time despite unlucky draw. We were close.

What I can reveal right now is that despite I loved to work for your community I will not ask for another term.

Aujourd'hui c'est le moment de faire des miracles. Avant le dernier match de ce dernier tour qualificatif pour les demies finales nous sommes pour le moment hors jeu, cela signifie qu'il va nous falloir gagner et espérer que les résultats vont nous aider à passer. Voyons voir :

Pologne-Italie : La Pologne a 36 point de PA d'avance sur nous et l'Italie qui est déjà éliminée utilise les matchs restant pour tester des choses inexplorées. Cela signifie qu'ils vont jouer des tactiques folles et pour cette raison il ne représente pas un réel danger pour la Pologne qui ne devrait avoir aucun problème pour assurer une place en demie.

Serbie- Chine : La Serbie a 6 points d'avance sur nous au PA, la Chine est assurée d'être en demi finale et jouera en tranquille. La Serbie a donc une bonne chance de gagner à enthousiasme supérieur. La question restante est donc de savoir quel enthousiasme ils vont mettre. S'ils en mettent suffisamment, ils devraient gagner et espérer la demie.

Lettonie-USA : la Lettonie a 34 pts de PA de retard sur nous, les USA sont certain d'être qualifié et jouera en tranquille. Les lettons vont jouer à enthousiasme supérieur et ils vont donner tout ce qu'ils ont dans le ventre pour gagner et espérer qu'au moins une ou deux équipes devant eux perde.

Il nous faut gagner et espérer passer devant 2 de ces équipes. Cela va se jouer entre la Serbie, la Lettonie et nous pour la dernière place

Nous sommes éliminés pour 2 points de PA

A 3 secondes du terme Pinero nous a tué... Nous étions si proches !

Que dire ?
Les italiens sont devenus mes grands amis en faisant le choix de préserver leur TS pour leur dernier match contre la Pologne en jouant en tranquille au lieu du couperet logique.

C'est là que les détails ont toutes leur importance. Comme je vous l'ai dit nous n'avons pas eu de chance au tirage. Si nous avions rencontré la Lettonie avant l'Argentine nous passions facilement en demie. Bon, il faut un peu de chance pour devenir champion, nous n'en avons pas eu.
Dans cette seconde phase nous avons fait face à 3 normal et 1 couperet alors que notre compétition directe n'a rien eu de tout ça. Cela a fait la différence.

Les serbes ont sorti le couperet et vont se faire balayer par la Chine en demie. Les serbes vont remporter le trophée de bronze. Je ne voulais pas de ce trophée de bronze mais la victoire finale c'est pour cela que j'ai pris de gros risques malgré le tirage défavorable. Nous étions si proches.

Ce que je peux vous dire dès ce soir c'est que malgré le plaisir que j'ai pris à travailler pour votre communauté je ne briguerai pas un autre mandat.

Hi everybody,
I would like to summarize my term as EDF coach. First of all, it was big honor for me to lead your national team! I knew, especially with english, I am not going to favour everybody. That is why I have tried hard to find more translators who I want to thank big time, especially Souriciergris for his dedication and help! At the end he couldn´t do everything by himself and language barrier became the biggest issue in my eyes and my biggest failure as EDF coach. I wanted to involve whole big community which I didn´t and EDF became something like my own buisness. Now I know, France needs french coach!

At this moment I would like to thank phisla as well, who was really big help at any moment! I also want to thank to all of you who train french players, EDF is becoming french again and that is fundamental to have a strong NT. I would like to name all of you but one name is needed to say – Joruus – amazing job! Thank to all of you who spoken up, every single post, every reaction to my ideas here in forum or at bbf was highly appreciated! Thank you philou for smooth start of my term, I will try to provide the same help to new EDF coach. Thank you Teemo for your ideas and dedication.

I hope you didn´t lose interes in EDF for this past two seasons. Good luck, great times are ahead of you, just stay versatile, don´t focus on one tactic, new salary formulas will stir things up once again. With Morisset and Blanchard in team and with some new AFs you should rule the world really soon!

Now, I want to say few words about our results:

SEASON 35 (Euro in Latvia)
First phase - 1st place in group achieved easy and smooth, the only lost to Slovenia was at the time we were qualified already whith TIE vs CT.
Second phase – started with huge victory over Polland NOR vs TIE what made me play next game against home team of Latvia TIE and lose to their NOR. After easy victory over Suisse we faced CT from Hungary and won thank to another NOR. Last game against Lithuania was the game who Polland, Latvia or we are going to semis. I anticipated CT from Lithuania as their last game but they didnt play it and our NOR provided huge victory – possible mistake becose we were low in TS for semifinals against Italy, who played easier group and had higher TS. That is why we lost and ended up bronze. If I didn´t play NOR against Lithuania we could be in finals at least..
This season was season of skilldowns – we have lost Benklifa, LeMoigne, Besse very quickly and our shapes were problem through out the whole season.

SEASON 36 (World in Uruguay)
Repechage – we have smoothly qualified for World cup after good victories over Iran and Brasil. It was not easy tournament as Australia or Spain didn´t make the World cup at all.
First phase – we were drawn really tough group. It was not easy to qualiffy for Second phase but if we wanted to have a shot in title we had to carry on as much victories as possible. After easy victory over Algeria we had to play NOR vs Italy, as for some past issues. They didnt play NOR at the end and lose by 3 pts to us. This has eliminated Italy for Season36. We than lost to USA but victory over Taiwan who benefited from USA walkover in their game and was still in the game for promotion.Last game against China was really close again but we have lost by 7 pts with that we qualiffied with 1-2 record for second phase.
Second phase – bad bad draw Serbia and Polland were teams we needed to jump over. So we needed to beat them and have better score margin. So we played NOR vs NOR in both games and won both games. At the same time China and USA become easy qualifiers to semis and played TIE rest of their games. That meant for title we need to TIE rest of our games to have a chance in possible semifinal against China. Unfortunately I made another critical mistake against Latvia, we lost to their NOR and even last game victory over Argentina TIE vs CT was not enough – we missed 2 pts. Here, besides my mistake in game against Latvia, we had really bad luck – in Second phase we faced only NOR and CT while Serbia and Polland didn´t. In this fight we had worse position from beggining despite, that thank great shapes, we were very close to semis in which we would have chance to challenge China in another close game.

Sum it up – first season was season of bad shapes and skilldowns where I have made mistake in not playing it risky against Lithuania. In second season we faced bad draw which put us in much worse position than Serbia and Polland despite that we were able to show we are better but it was not enough as China, USA and Italy decided that Serbia and Polland qualiffies for semis on our expense. We faced those 3 teams in full strengths while Serbia and Polland didn´t. In this season I shouldn ´t have PAM Latvia game.

I feel I didn´t blow French chances as EDF coach, I honestly feel, despite two mistakes, I did pretty decent job and with little luck we could say we succed. But we didn´t and that counts at the end. I would evaluate myself with grade B- or C+
