OK - second time posting here this season . . .

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/17927360/boxscore.aspx

This game looks pretty even to me on paper (I have better inside scoring vs. his inside defense; he has better outside scoring vs. my outside defense; I am much stronger in rebounds).

My question is what happened in the 4th quarter? A very even game until the 4th . . . then he outscores me by 10? His FG% was much higher in the 4th quarter than any other quarter . . .

Could this be a stamina thing? This has happened to me in EVERY LEAGUE game this season . . . great 1st half, horrible 3rd and 4th quarter. Does stamina have that much of an effect? I have been under the impressions that no one trains stamina except during either the all-star break or at the end of the season.

Thanks for your thoughts.

how did i end up losing by 12 points? i had home court advantage, higher enthusiasm, proper tactics, higher match ratings...
my perimeter def. was higher than his outside scoring, my outside scoring was higher than his perimeter defense. i also had higher rebounding and way higher offensive flow... in fact their "awful (low)" offensive flow only yielded 11 turnovers...

just a fluke???

thanks, forgot who it was, lol. anyway 12 of those free throws came in the final 1 1/2 minutes (intentional fouls). i was already losing 88-79, so the game was about over anyway...

idk, was just frustrating to watch. couldn't even take advantage of his top scorer being in foul trouble a good part of the game. (the player's defense drops then, right?). oh by the way, other than full court press, what is the best tactic for getting steals?

I think the importance of free throw is overated here. It's quite often that the winning sides are fouled more because the losing sides resort to the fouling strategy in the last minute. It's irrelevant to simply say that team won because it has very good free throw because

1) what matter most is why did the the match engine decide that team is a worse team up to the last minute of the game, rather than why did the fouling strategy failed.
2) if the fouling strategy worked, well, they won't get posted here.

I think what we are most interested is 1) but saying the winning side has good free throw is only answering why didn't the fouling strategy worked, which is pointless.

look at Matchups of both PG, SG and SF (probably the positions with more looks in outside offensive tactics, then the most important ones for most of these games) :

Considering higher enthusiasm and HCA your 3-2 defense was less efective than his M2M when facing the respective offense. Thus, he was the one whit the winning edge. This is also *confirmed* by the fact that even if you win the possesion's battle you were less efective at converting those opportunities into points, you can see this from the matchups optics and also looking at the "real performance" were you convert the same amount of shots but shooting 18 more attemps.

That is why you were losing the game before the foul-end-game-logic beggined.
