Thanks! Happy to be here. Yes I have played BB before and I have good experience in training players for the U21 and NT. For me the most important thing is to be patient and have fun 😀

@ Wagner, it will, as you say, be a good problem if we have to expand the HGL in coming seasons.

Indeed... We'd still be able to accept at least maybe 1-2 more teams and being able to retain the same league system (and keep the amount of work required in running the league at reasonably close to the same level it is now).

In the case of adding 2 teams for instance, possibly we could alter it slightly, so that at least similar amount of teams would reach post-season play than currently (75%). For instance so that 2 best would be guaranteed a place for the Second Round of Playoffs automatically (instead of current 4), and teams on regular season positions 3-14 would play on the First Round of Playoffs. (That way 77,8% of teams would be included in the postseason play). This is very flexible league system in many ways. And if we'd ever have to decide rankings for teams not reaching Second Round of Playoffs, it would be possible to play such 'classification match playoffs' during regular HGL Playoffs, etc. However, currently that's not needed.

And if it would be the case that some current HGL managers would decide to step aside after one or few seasons, then we'd of course be talking about replacing project, not an expansion of the league.

The biggest challenge in major expansion is the nature of HGL, as nothing happens automatically. Time is going to show how much work this is for me to handle anyway, but I'm giving it my best.
There's a lot of work in getting things running with already 16 teams, let alone if some additional bonus aspects such as statistics are being permanently introduced to HGL.

And if some would like the idea (on paper) of dividing HGL to Premier League and Division 1, then I want to remind these people that the amount of matches would then be about doubled (if same amount of matches would be played per team per regular season), which adds significantly to the amount of work included. Also, if same kind of amount of matches (than in HGL currently) would be played in two different level divisions with 8 teams in both, then it would be necessary to play twice against same opponent during season, which is more boring than playing against different opponent each round.
Other option would've been to include a lot less regular season matches - during season 1 of HGL it would've meant only 7 (!) regular season matches per team, and I guess some (many?) would consider that an inadequate amount.

So I far prefer current league system (instead of different level divisions) used in HGL, as it gives maximum amount benefit for least amount of work (and removes many questionable/arguable decisions, such as at which level would new teams joining HGL would start from, etc.), and is flexible in terms of adding more teams to postseason play if we slightly expand HGL in the future.

In that case I feel like we're going to see a strong team from you in 3-5 seasons, as you already have plenty of training experience! Training players for that level already require some (or actually in many cases lots) of patience and discipline, so you likely already possess some of the most important qualities what it takes to become a manager of a successful HG(L) team... :)
At least for me, the aforementioned HGL adds to the fun aspect of Buzzerbeater, as we can finally compete in a proper league against each other, and in HGL we don't have to fight against windmills like many of us do in regular BB leagues. (In other words, you can't mainly simply buy yourself out of trouble).

I think training will require some adjustment, because I need more allround players. I was mainly good in training guards.

We have two Official Threads for HGL, where you can find more information. Currently, we have a plan to create new threads for each season of HGL.

The main thread can be found here: (326589.1).
It includes most of HGL information, rules and explanations of practices we follow in HGL (in order to keep the league running as smoothly and fairly as possible). Most of the discussion about HGL is meant to take place in that thread, but as HGL is a new thing, we're at least currently "allowing" discussion on both threads.
(At the moment personally I prefer allowing conversation to take place anywhere it "organically" wants to happen, instead of trying to restrict that to only one thread where it can take place, as I think it's very important that we can keep HGL community active :).

Then there's also an Official HGL Scores Thread, here: (326590.1), which was originally planned only mainly for scores and box score posts related to HGL, but it is currently also used for discussion (and in terms of discussion, especially used to provide match reports/speculation on recent match results).

So welcome to Official Threads to follow conversation, read more about HGL, about our league system and rules, participating teams etc. Reading that through should give you pretty good idea whether or not you're interested in participating HGL in the future seasons - I hope you are! :)
