I'm sure not only yourself but everyone who has an interest in the Australian U21 NT will be really disappointed with this seasons results. Especially after last years success that you and the team had experienced.

IMO gameshape surely can't be the be all and end all (even though it is important). So can't blame everything on that. I'm all for change next season, whether it's players or whatever...

Good idea about giving the 'future' some experience now though.

Exact same thing happened last term with Iwen. Great team for the Asian Championships, lack-luster team for the World Championships. Seems like a bit of a trend, Game Shape paired with a bad draw has a pretty huge effect. If our order had been slightly different we would have had 2 wins with decent enthusiasm coming into our last match, unfortunately the 2 teams we had the best chance of beating we had in the first and third game. This meant we had to conserve enthusiasm and look for a different team to beat, Hungary was that team, unfortunately they got the better of us down the line which means its over for us this season.

Thank you to all the managers who participated in this season, mostly the ones who kept their players on good Game Shape

bad luck Leeroy.

This game can be cruel and that is that.

DO you think it is a case of the team being not as good as the Asian Championship team or that the higher level of competition throughout all the games takes its toll on the enthusiasm we are able to play at in the big games? Personally i don't know the team very well, or the previous one, so i can't judge as to their strengths, but just a thought.

It's a mixture of both really. Last season our bigs were superb and we had a few decent guards. This season our guards are great, all of them have great passing if only to be lacking in JS and JR, but we had bigs on crap Game Shape throughout the season. In Asian championships we have a long time to build up enthusiasm so a normal here or there doesn't effect us as much, but because I was forced to normal our first match in the World Championships it meant I had to TIE against Egypt and potentially give away our 2nd win (even though they ended up CT'ing us). The world championships are short which requires good enthusiasm management paired with good Game Shape.

We'll get a World Championship trophy one of these days

Canada U21 has the same problems, we always seem to have a stronger team during the continentals then we do during the worlds. Frustrating.

Leeroy is correct last season our bigs were outstanding, in fact there were so many that even when one or two were out of shape there were lots more to take up the slack and some like Scoggins, Gunasekar and Lonergan were just brilliant. The guards were a little mixed and we have all heard about some of their struggles but at least Johnson and Runciman were fairly reliable. This season I just haven't felt good about the team, but please allow me at least a little pride, in his one game Dexter hit 5/7 for 11 points in just 13 minutes.

A few are looking good, the potentials are a bit lame on our bigs. I'll post them up soon on the off-site

AH very bad luck to the team... Burbery was still the best player on the team despite that crucial turnover. He just had that one in the whole game. Without him we wouldn't be able to come down to the last minute. And just wondering can the GS of the bigs go any worse than this? It's been the same for the whole season and it's just not good enough as the team can go further than this if not because of those lazy managers.

*Sigh
