i was looking over the best players -- i like to group them by game ratings -- and wondered how the all-star teams would look if chosen simply by highest ratings for each position. first name for each position would be an All-Star starter

Big 8

PG Karntasis (ChiTown) / Zulli (Ron Swanson)

SG Guerrero (ChiTown) / Piradini (Ron Swanson)

SF Arnett (Ron Swanson) / Vigneron (The Hawks)

PF Trahair (The Hawks) / Basas (Senecaville)

C Madrid (ChiTown) / Kobylinski (Senecaville)

Great 8

PG Miranda (Bruins) / Lehesalu (Tucumcari)

SG Bonivento (Bruins) / Farzaliev (Muppet Honey)

SF Bridgewater (Tucumcari) / Kelsey (Bruins)

PF Harlow (Redbull) / Karabol (Eugene)

C Pintore (Eugene) / Bachniak (Chanute)

a number of judgment calls -- Lacalle (Tucumcari) could have been SF, but has recently been used as SG

and Goss (Lake Merritt), Quintanilla (Bruins), and Kilotiatis (Eugene), all wonderful players, got caught in a very deep C position in Great 8.

and the Bruins / ChiTown match should be great -- both teams have the best guards in the league and an exceptional front line.

One other data point that illustrates what many have known for some time: competition over time has gotten much stiffer.

In DII.3, these are the number of players who had game ratings above 14.0:

Season 7 one

Season 12 four

Season 17 fourteen

Season 23 twenty-one

Season 26 twenty-eight

Interesting, but phenominal players aren't all that's needed to win a game. There's loads more. We could add the best GDP predictor and the best player health manager and the best game tactic runner, etc... Now that would be fantastic would it not? hehehe. Just thoughts I ponder.

big week for the Cup tournament -- with the short week, a chance for teams to put their best foot forward twice.

NBBA

DII
Chicago Dire Wolves at Muppet Honey

DIII
Bruins at Skillz that Killz
Michigan Blasters at Corn Growers
Tasty Tardsicles at Redbull
Sons of Vulcan at ChiTown

DIV
Eugene at Shooter Tutors
Colbolt Bullets at Cyborgs

DV

For comparison -- number of teams from the other DII leagues still active in the Cup:
DII.1 six
DII.2 seven
DII.4 eight
