Yeah, the return is definitely not worth it if one wants to compete.
Looks like the best way is simply get rid of the coach, facilities, and get 31-33 year olds for cheap off the market.

If you can build very salary efficient top-tier players, it can be worth it. Not the 8+ million that they used to go for, but 5-6 isn't unreasonable. I bid $6 million on McMahon last year and still got outbid.

Well this was certainly a thing
My players up for sale ending just after post game
I check in on the app 3 minutes before game time
PG has a bid on him
But it says he's injured 12-23 days
That's before the game where he plays most of the first half before getting hurt
Poor manager that bought him for the playoffs
