If beanerz is taking over the NT next season, i think it is time for me to step up to the plate and lead the U21. I think the last 2-3 seasons have seen the deterioration of our Canadian user base and its time to reverse these problems before there are no users left.

If it is alright with the others i will go ahead and enter myself into the u21 election. That is only if i receive the nomination and heads up from at least 3 users, preferably around 7. Needless to say, if i fail to conjure even 3 nominations i am unfit to lead the U21 team and will dutifully give way and support who ever becomes the next U21 manager.

I don't say much. But scorher, you've been around for awhile so i respect that, but it's up to the user's themselves to contibute. You can't make anyone post and as for myself, could easily fall into the catagory of not posting but playing forever, I would say Mod-Ballin is so good for Canada it isn't funny... Great work Ballin, you filled in the stats void and great U21 work for all of Canada.

But that being said, everyone has there right to run for the manager's job on the NT or the U21. It's every users right. You've have been around for quite awhile and I would have to consider you a legit choice as the NT manager.

First off, I am by no means a slam dunk to win the NT Manager elections.

I am not sure you realize but Bballin has been one of, if not he best U21 manager ever. The results achieved were not always the best but his contribution is undeniably awesome!! Unless he has decided that he will not run for the U21 job next year, there is no chance that he gets defeated.

My advice would be to run for the NT position as you will actually have a chance to win it and it is far easier to start out compared to the U21 position.

Ok ill reply to all 3 of you in this post.

@scorcher

I have actually been noticing Canadas numbers going up during this season. We were sitting at around 420-430 the past couple season and now we are hitting as high as 472 and 450 on Mondays(when teams go bot), but I would agree in a sense that Canadas community activity on the forums and such has been dropping. This has something to do with newer teams taking the reigns from the older teams though. We just need to get a better scouting system going(something that is being started and that you were(and can be) a part of) so that the new teams that get a young prospect can be accounted for right away and we can try and keep their interest, lead them to the forums and voila! We have seen some good activity though when the right conversation arises. scorcher you would be a fine candidate and I welcome anyone to run in any election and participate in the debate as a healthy debate and election is always best.

@ Mr. Burns

Thanks for the kind words and I would agree with you. Anyone can and should run if they feel they are good for the country. I have no problems with scorcher and I will nominte him just so we can have a nice election go on.

@ GM-beanerz

I think you are pretty close to a slam dunk victor in the NT elections. If zmtomako doesnt run like he says, RiP stays busy, and Mogul doesnt decide that he wants to come out of nowhere and run the NT, you shouldnt have too much of a problem winning the NT election. That being said I would still want as many legitimate candidates as possible in any election. I wish damian13ster would run against you. That would be fun to. beanerz vs damian13ster vs scorcher. That would be a great debate!

Thanks for the kind words. Barring and major RL changes or something on BB that causes Canada to hate me ill run again :P The results are getting better this season! As I dont think anyone would have done anything differently than what I have done so far.

I would agree that the NT position is probably easier to start with as it requires less constant scouting once a depth chart has been made(thanks zmtomako) as opposed to U21 where you have 100 new players every season plus you still have to scout 19-21 yos with the 18 year olds. NT manager is by no means easy, but easier I would say.

Overall: Anyone can and should run for either position. So go for it scorcher, even if you dont get the 7 nominations you are looking for, prove yourself with a great speech writeup and debate(during the election of course).

I might actually try and run for NT position in next season. In nearest future, it is the term during which I will have the most time (hopefully enough to be successful), although I believe that Beanerz will most likely be chosen and is probably the best candidate.

I appreciate the positive feedback. I will not be running for the positions if BBallin and Beanerz are going to run as i believe they are currently the best suited. If by chance that one of them does not run in the election i hope that i could fill that void. The national team may be easier for me, but like i said if Beanerz is interested i will throw my support behind him right away.

Also, BBallin i would like to continue scouting. I just need to take care of some personal complications first. I should be ready for full commitment by around August 10th. When school starts however, i may not be readily available but i will do my best.

Good to know that Canada has someone to fallback on then.

I'd be interested to see if we can start organizing to have a more competitive team 5+ seasons down (which is when I hope Sammons would be a ~$300k Center with good secondaries... if we have a decent team). It'd be nice if someone can start doing some long-term planning as far as players (and it doesn't necessarily have to be the NT manager). It looks like we have a stable of elite 25y/o guards on the NT, but most of the NT forwards are old, and I only really see matthew bradshaw as a SF hopeful and Denny Hall as a PF hopeful. Are there any other really good forwards going to be around in 5 seasons? (That are ideally on good teams that would be able to afford them.) And having more than 1 center would be nice, as well as keeping all the guards with good managers.

This is something that would require long term planning and a lot of work/dedication. Building the perfect U21 and then the perfect NT would be difficult, but possible. People would need money to buy trainees to suit the needs, or luck to draft the player that suits the needs. People would need space fo training and the willingness to put training ahead of success in some instances. It can be done. 3 trainees per manager and 4 dedicated managers can have 12 players. If we got say 10 managers with high level trainers, high potential trainees and dedication to training, just imagine the type of U21 and NT we could build. I tihnk for this to occur we will also need co-operation and lots of discussion to figure everything out which would require people to register, check and post regularily on the offsite forum.

Speaking of forwards, we have Garvi who is 20, but only superstar potential. I am pretty sure Trotter from last season had superstar potential and a level 7 trainer and he was being trained as a SF. Worley is coming up, as is Arsenault and Lachance. The depth chart is on the offsite if someone registered.. ;) or checked :P
